Xunliao Bay

4.5/5
2.4k reviews
Xunliao Bay is located on the western end of Renping Peninsula in Huidong, Huizhou, by the Daya Bay. Known for its clear seawater and fine white sand, it is often referred to as the "heaven-sent white gold beach." As a popular coastal resort near the Pearl River Delta, it often attracts self-drive visitors from Guangzhou and Shenzhen on weekends. A coastline stretching over 20 km connects a series of bays, featuring public beaches like Xunliao Bay and Deze Garden, as well as private beaches affiliated with hotels, all with fine, soft sand and gentle slopes, perfect for wading and sand play. The sea is dotted with small islands, among which Delta Island is accessible by speedboat, offering snorkeling and sailing boat activities. Onshore, Mozishi Park is renowned for its "shallow sea stone forest," with giant rocks like Mushroom Rock and Sea Lion Rock scattered along the coast. The iconic "wind-eroded rocking stone," which sways but never falls, is a signature sight and a popular spot for sunset views. In the Tianhou Palace Lingnan Folk Culture Street, the white-walled arcade buildings of Lingnan architecture complement the Mazu culture, making it ideal for a leisurely stroll. The resort area also preserves a natural mangrove forest. The experience goes beyond beach strolls, shell collecting, and sunbathing. Joining local fishermen for trawling is a highly representative activity, where you keep the catch and can have it cooked at nearby stalls. Enjoy the fresh sweetness of the day's seafood with dishes like salt and pepper mantis shrimp, ginger and scallion stir-fried flower crabs, and steamed fish. To avoid crowds, head to the bays near Nanhai fishing village, where locals frequent quieter shores. About stay There are many hotels in Xunliao Bay. The advantage is that most hotels offer a direct sea view, have good locations, and relatively mature service facilities. Bay avenue has hotels and guesthouses of various grades. If you want to save a little, you can also consider staying in a homestay on Xunping road. Although you can't see the sea view, you can enjoy the farmland and green mountains, which are also pleasing to the eye. Moreover, it's not far to walk to the bay. About meals There are many seafood stalls here with very fresh offerings, such as salt and pepper mantis shrimp, ginger and scallion stir-fried flower crabs, and steamed fish. You can indulge to your heart's content. If you need to buy seafood, there is a hard-to-find market in Xunliao town. You can ask the locals for directions. Fishermen usually return in the afternoon and sell their fresh catch by the market.Huidong · 34.4 km from downtown

Located in the port town of Huidong, Double Moon Bay is famous for its peculiar sea views. Seen from above, the entire bay looks like two new moons. The most amazing point is that the left part of bay is quiet and gentle, while the right part is choppy and aggressive. The scene is absolutely spectacular. In addition, the seafood here is very cheap. You can come here for a walk, take a boat trip, eat seafood, or watch the sea. The whole experience is very therapeutic.Huidong · 48.1 km from downtown

Located in Huizhou, Guangdong, Huizhou West Lake is one of the most famous local attractions. The landscape of the West Lake is composed of "five lakes, six bridges, and eight scenes." "Five lakes" refers to the five lakes that form the West Lake area: Ling Lake, E Lake, Ping Lake, Feng Lake, and South Lake. There is a mountain on the west side of Ping Lake, and the Memorial Hall of Su Dongpo is built on the mountain. When Su Dongpo was living in Huizhou, he wrote poetry about West Lake.Huizhou · 3.1 km from downtown

Nankunshan National Forest Park is located in Longmen County, Huizhou. It is very close to major cities such as Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Guangzhou, and Dongguan. From Guangzhou, it is about 97 kilometers, and from Shenzhen, it is about 166 kilometers. The surrounding urban areas are all within a three-hour drive. Driving along various highways and exiting at Zengcheng, the roadsides are lined with tall mountains and forests, which is very pleasing to the eye, making it an ideal destination for self-driving tours in Guangdong.  Before reaching the entrance of Nankunshan National Forest Park, you will see a sign for the Dafeimen scenic area, which actually marks the beginning of the park. Dafeimen is a large reservoir within Nankunshan National Forest Park. The water quality here is very good, surrounded entirely by mountains and forests with almost no man-made landscapes, making it very natural. You can park and sit at a roadside stall to enjoy some mountain water tofu pudding while appreciating the natural scenery. The park features more than 20 scenic spots, such as Chuanlong Gorge, Chuanlong Waterfall, Qixian Lake, Stone River Wonder, Guanyin Pond, Yixiantian, Centenarian Cedar King, Xianxia Waterfall, and Paradise Peak. Some of these spots are far apart, making it difficult to visit all of them in one trip, even when driving. Among them, the main attractions for most visitors are Guanyin Pond, Paradise Peak, Stone River Wonder, and Chuanlong Waterfall. Entering through the southwest gate of the park, four kilometers west of Nankunshan Town, you will reach Guanyin Pond. Guanyin Pond lies within a mountain stream and has three waterfalls in series. Behind the lower waterfall, there is a white stone that resembles a seated Guanyin, inviting visitors to calmly admire the green pond water. Through the waterfall curtain, you can faintly see this stone Guanyin. The pond is named after this Guanyin-like white stone, and of course, there is also a legend, which will not be elaborated here. After leaving Guanyin Pond, you arrive at Nankunshan Town, the most bustling part of the park. The town is small and can be explored in ten or so minutes on foot. Both sides of the street are lined with small hotels, restaurants, and many small shops selling local mountain products and specialties. The Stone River scenic area is a very beautiful spot in Nankunshan National Forest Park, located roughly one kilometer behind the parking lot. A long small river forms various large and small pools due to the surrounding oddly shaped giant rocks. The water is green and clear, creating a particularly tranquil environment. Heading south from the Stone River scenic area, you will see a newly constructed stone stairway. Following the stairs through a bamboo forest leads to the magnificent Chuanlong Waterfall. Mountain spring water flows out from a stone cave that resembles a dragon's head, plunging straight into a deep pool, presenting a spectacular sight. On the cliff, the calligrapher Qin Esheng has inscribed the words 'Chuanlong Gorge.'Longmen · 38.4 km from downtown

A beautiful, natural attraction, Yanzhou Island is a picturesque fishing village that blends traditional and contemporary scenery with its magnificent landscapes and coastal vegetation. What to expect? Enjoy romping from sparkling blue waters on to a leisure walk along the clean and bright sandy beach. Relax with family and friends in the midst of the tropical, garden like setting of this quiet town where a blue sea sky smiles down on you. Long-standing, white windmills enhance the authenticity of history integrated into city life. The endless mountainous peaks rise high above the trees, inviting you to reach for the sky with your dreams and capture views of the graceful movements of chattering egrets. Resting in the forest park areas and spreading their wings to mix with the stately clouds, thousands of these long-legged wading birds can be seen as entertaining and taking flight to decorate the sky at dusk and dawn.Huidong · 37.6 km from downtown

As the eighteen scenes of Xunliao Bay, the millstone is a typical representative of the shallow sea stone forest landscape in Xunliao. It is said that every time the situation changes, the giant mill flies and whirrs, and the surrounding various peculiar rock groups attract millions of tourists from home and abroad to come for sightseeing and experience the "wind and waves". The magic of the axe. There is no street sign, no sign, but it is a resort for some outdoor old donkeys to hike the coastline, listen to the waves, watch the sea, watch the rocks, swim, and catch fish! If you don't go to Mozishi, don't talk about Xunliao Bay, and the Mozishi coastline is one of the beautiful coastlines in Huidong.Huidong · 38.3 km from downtown

Huizhou boasts two of the most beautiful coastal spots: Shuangyue Bay and Xunliao Bay. These two coastlines are also among the most beautiful beaches in Guangdong. While Shuangyue Bay might have a slight edge in terms of scenery alone, Xunliao Bay excels in its larger scale, more comprehensive facilities, and greater livability. It's also closer to Shenzhen, and the newly expanded highway makes travel much smoother. If you're simply visiting for tourism, you'll definitely want to explore both. If you're short on time and have to choose one, go to Shuangyue Bay. But if you're looking for a weekend getaway, to relax, enjoy seafood, feel the sea breeze, and not rush through tourist attractions, then choose Xunliao Bay. Many people choose Xunliao Bay for their winter getaways.

Huacheng Fishing Port Seafood Restaurant (China Resources Xiaojing Bay Branch) specializes in seafood. Located on Xiaojing Bay beach in Daya Bay, the restaurant primarily serves seafood. The main selling point is seasonal seafood, emphasizing freshness, plumpness, thin shells, and thick meat. It's often paired with Coca-Cola, aiming to provide a "foodie's delight" dining experience. Although this restaurant is located in China Resources Xiaojing Bay in Huiyang, surrounded by the sea, the seafood may be sourced from other regions.

Very beautiful, away from the hustle and bustle. It's nice to go out for a walk and relax. I walked up step by step with my children. There are many plants on the roadside and the air is quite fresh. There are many hiking experts, and the atmosphere of climbing is very good. It's also very beautiful to take pictures. Special experience: The Toumao Peak is generally quiet and comfortable, but there are delicious foods in Sanmao Peak, and the noodles are super delicious Transportation: Parking is super convenient, there is a parking lot at the foot of the mountain

This place is not well developed, and the supporting facilities are relatively poor, so there are few people. People usually come here to see the sea, go fishing, go to the island, and eat seafood. Some people set off fireworks at night, which is quite pleasant (so you can only sleep quietly at about 12 o'clock) [Scenery] The sea is still good on a sunny day. But the sea is more like a mudflat, not a white sand beach [Fun] It's a bit interesting to follow the boat to watch fishing and pick up oysters It's okay to go to Donghu Island to see the sea, but there is a lot of garbage on the island We bought a semi-finished wooden house for barbecue

The reason why the Mazu Temple in Hezuigang is called the Tianhou Temple I came to the Mazu Temple at 17:10 on June 28, 2025. There were a pile of stones on the beach. It was low tide, and many men, women, old and young were catching fish. The reason why Mazu was called "Tianhou" originated from the official title conferred by the courts of successive dynasties. This title marked her official promotion from the folk belief in the sea god to the highest female deity in the national sacrificial system. In the third year of Wanli (1575) of the Ming Dynasty, she was awarded the title of "Tianhou", becoming the first official certification to include Mazu in the national sacrificial rites; ‌‌ The title upgrade at this stage reflects the central government's emphasis on the marine economy and the official recognition of its function of protecting the country and the people.
