"The Gift of the Nile" was almost missed; originally scheduled to close on October 11th, it has now been postponed to November 1st, seemingly leaving a final, gentle respite for those who couldn't make it.
Upon entering the exhibition hall, a dynamic projection immediately catches the eye. Warm golden light spills across the walls, and the Sphinx sits serenely in the interplay of light and shadow, while the cat-headed goddess slowly emerges from the sacred pool. The temple from thousands of years ago seems to have been transported to the banks of the Pearl River, making even breathing unconsciously quiet.
What truly captivates is the three complete mummies and the painted coffins. The mummy of Ta Har lies quietly in its display case, the colors on the coffin still vibrant after millennia. The patterns of deities and the hieroglyphic incantations—every stroke reflects the ancient Egyptians' solemn hopes for the afterlife.
