Puente de la Mujer

Puente de la Mujer spans Dock 3 in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, and is a white rotating pedestrian bridge. It is approx. 170 m long, with a white pylon over 30 m high pointing toward the sky, and cable stays suspending the bridge deck like harp strings. The towering pylon and the extended bridge deck lean toward and away from each other, resembling a dancer frozen in an embrace. It can also rotate to open, with the middle section turning horizontally to clear a path for passing vessels. Strolling across the bridge, you will see the dockside scenery and rows of modern buildings on one side, while not far away, the old sailing ship Sarmiento, now a museum, is moored. You can often see love locks placed by couples on the railings. After nightfall, the lights come on, and the white pylon and cables are reflected on the water, making it a popular time for tourists and locals to take photos.

Plaza General San Martín

Plaza General San Martín is located in the Retiro district of Buenos Aires. Shaded by trees and featuring undulating terrain, it is a rare, tranquil oasis in the bustling city center. The bronze equestrian statue in the center is the focal point, created by French sculptor Louis-Joseph Daumas. The general's pose, reining in his horse, complements the bronze reliefs depicting war scenes around the base, and it is also a popular spot for tourists to take photos. On the side facing Avenida del Libertador stands the Malvinas War Memorial. The names of the fallen are engraved on several black marble slabs, creating a solemn atmosphere where citizens often come to lay flowers. On one side is a gentle slope covered in grass, from which you can see the Torre Monumental standing across the street. On the other side, ancient trees provide shade, with ombú and jacaranda trees dotting the area, surrounded by historic buildings of various styles, such as the Edificio Kavanagh and the Palacio Paz.

Casa Rosada

Casa Rosada is located on the east side of Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires. It is nicknamed the "Pink House" by locals due to its pink exterior, and it serves as the office of the President of Argentina and a venue for state events. In the late 19th century, architect Tamburini used a central arch to connect the originally separate post office and government office buildings into a whole, creating a symmetrical facade facing the square. The subtle misalignment of the window lines and floor heights on both sides is a trace of this history of unification. The long balcony in the center of the main facade is where Eva Perón (Evita) once delivered speeches to the crowds in the square, and it serves as the backdrop for the classic "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" scene in the musical *Evita*. The basement houses a museum displaying artifacts such as the sashes, scepters, furniture, and carriages of past presidents, where you can also see the excavated remains of colonial-era fortress walls and cannonball holes.

Parque Tres de Febrero

Parque Tres de Febrero is located in the Palermo district in the north of Buenos Aires and is one of the city's main urban green spaces, where artificial lakes, lawns, and stretches of tree-lined avenues are interwoven across hundreds of hectares. Over 10,000 roses spread along the artificial lake, and a small white bridge spans the water, known to locals as the Lovers' Bridge; the Andalusian Patio, a gift from Seville, is decorated with glazed tiles and features a vine-covered pergola, exuding a strong Spanish flair. You can pedal a paddle boat slowly on the lake, and birds such as herons and parrots are often seen by the lakeside, attracting enthusiasts who often visit specifically for them. The Garden of the Poets contains statues of writers such as Shakespeare and Alfonsina Storni, and the Sarmiento Monument by Rodin is also located there. The silver-domed Galileo Galilei Planetarium is supported by 3 arches, looking like a planet that has landed on the lawn. The tree-lined avenues surrounding the park are daily routes for locals to jog and cycle, and on weekends, families can be seen everywhere on the lawns, spreading out picnic blankets and drinking mate.

The Barolo Palace

The Barolo Palace stands in the center of Buenos Aires. In an era when skyscrapers were still a novelty, it dominated the city's skyline for over a decade thanks to its reinforced concrete structure. The building's design is based on Dante's "Divine Comedy," and it stands 100m tall, corresponding to the 100 cantos of the poem. The basement and entrance hall symbolize Hell, while the middle floors symbolize Purgatory, with imagery of the Seven Deadly Sins hidden in the decorations every two floors. The higher up you go, the simpler and brighter the decorations become. The high-rise tower represents Heaven, topped with a glass dome and a lighthouse. The dome's design draws inspiration from Indian architecture, alluding to the love between Dante and Beatrice, while the lighthouse symbolizes the divine light of the Empyrean. When visiting, don't miss the nine vaults in the hall inscribed with Latin inscriptions. They correspond to the nine circles of Hell and are adorned with sculptures of mythical beasts, Carrara marble finishes, and vintage iron cage elevators. Even the door handles and light fixtures were designed by the architect himself.
