Our tour guide, Kaku, was incredibly dedicated and responsible â absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended! ð He provided commentary three times, in Chinese, English, and Japanese, and even reminded us which restaurants were good, which were average, and where to go first. He also distributed electronic maps and tourist brochures. I've participated in other local Japanese Gassho-zukuri village bus tours before, and none of the guides were this attentive. The itinerary included a 10-minute photo opportunity at the observation deck before continuing to the village, saving us the 30-minute round trip hike! ð This time, I didn't expect to have to climb to the observation deck myself, so the time spent in the village felt a bit rushed. But Kaku was wonderful â highly recommended! ðâ

The meeting point was easy to find, and everyone departed on time. I was surprised to find people from different countries on the bus. The tour guide was excellent and very meticulous, providing commentary in Chinese, Japanese, and English throughout the trip. The driver drove smoothly, and everything went according to schedule. The bus was clean, making the trip very worthwhile. I also found a delicious Hida beef restaurant near Nakabashi; definitely worth trying if you're planning a trip there. I originally intended to go on my own, but looking back, I'm so glad I booked this bus â it was great value for money.â

This tour gives you a taste of Takayama and Shirakawa go for a short 1.5 hours each place. It may be short but we still get to walk around the busy morning market, bought souvenirs and took nice photos. The tour guide Bara san is very friendly and patient and he told us stories about the places and gave recommendation of good place to try aakae. Overall, we enjoyed the tour and the lunch is a must have for this trip.â
