Overall, my experience using eSIM in Melbourne was good. Installation was quick, and I was connected to the internet immediately upon arrival. The signal was stable in the city center, and internet speeds were smooth. The only occasional dropouts occurred in remote areas, but these didn't significantly impact my main itinerary. I set it up before departure according to the manual, turned off the main Japanese network before boarding the flight, and then simply turned on the purchased SIM card when I arrived at the local airport. The connection was flawless. The experience was just as smooth and seamless as when using it domestically.
The speed was so smooth that I couldn't tell if it was fast or slow.
There were no issues with the coverage area, even when I went out to the suburbs, and I frequently used Google Maps at times, but there were no problems.
