Hotels With Spa in Western Region, Iceland

The room was okay and the hotel was clean. After staying in a B&B for a few days, I finally stayed in a hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but the food is so-so.

Very satisfied with a stay. We chose this hotel’s cabin, which is about 50-100 meters away from the sea, with the glass door facing the black mountain in front. It's about a distance from the front desk, but you can park in front of the door. There are 5 cabins connected. Because we have two people staying together, the front desk specially left us two relatively adjacent cabins. This night’s stay was great. The cabin was not special in appearance, but it was well equipped with kitchen equipment, dining table and sofa, and the bathroom was also great. There are also very good heating facilities, which can be switched on and off at any time. That night we cooked dinner in our room and went to the open-air hot spring pool outside the hotel. We could also make free hot chocolate in the lobby. We went to the beach to watch a perfect sunset at 10:30 in the evening.

The Hotel and the room was very nice. We arrived on Friday, after driving straight from work, to the Hotel at quarter to 6 pm. In our reservation we had a gift certificate for a 3 course meal. The reception said we had to hurry because dinner should start at 6pm. We asked if we could come a little later or maybe between 6.30 or 7 but the receptionist said NO, because then we would get our meal much later. We hurried up to our room and got dressed and went down to the restaurant. The restaurant was empty, we were the only ones there. We sat down and our starter came out within two minutes. When we hadn´t finished the waiter asked if we were done and we said wait a minute and tried to finish as quick as possible. When the waiter saw we had finished the starter she came and took our dishes and handed out the main course(straight away). It felt like they were trying to get o-us out of there as soon as possible. We took our time with the main course, it was obvious that our dinner had been made somewhere else or just earlier that day because it was just heated up for us and not cooked when ordered. When we got our dessert, at about 6:40, other hotel guests started arriving. Then we saw that they also had the same gift certificate and exactly the same meals. We found it strange why we had to hurry up to come down at 6pm and not everybody else. Sorry this service was not a good experience and the dinner just flat. This could have easily been a great experience if the service had been up to par with the room and look of the Hotel itself.

A hotel where you can easily see the Northern Lights. Thank you for upgrading the Superior Room. The hotel has notice to watch the Aurora. I was so happy to see the wonderful Aurora that night!

This is one of those hotels you come across on these road trips where you simply don't want to leave :) we stayed here for a single night coming from Vik area to get ready for our Langjokull Glacier excursion the following day, so needless to say we didn't get to enjoy the property too much but what we did was very magical! The location is very serene and peaceful, the shape of the hotel makes it very cozy as you just feel like you are in a boat or some kind of an igloo while going through the corridors and looking at the skies through glass ceilings - this was even more magical at night when I went out to check for the northern lights :) Room was great and had a small patio (handy at night when want to come out outside to check out the skies) that we enjoyed. Breakfast was of a great quality and decent variety, plus the venue where the tables are is on 2nd floor/higher above the ground level providing nice vistas. Definitely my top 3 of 10 nights in Iceland 2024, and even top 3 of combined with 10 nights in 2022 as well if I had to pick my absolute favorites from both trips!

I spent 3 nights with my family here, quick and easy check in6, with lots of parking. It took around 2 hours to reach the hotel from Keflavic Airport due to a road closure with high winds, but we made it. The apartment had a double, a single, and a large sofa bed. It was always warm, with underfloor heating and a nice warm bathroom too. The kitchen was well equipped, as well as seating and a large TV. On the last night the skies were clear and there's not so much light pollution at the location so we enjoyed a glimpse of the green sky! I'd definitely recommend staying here as a base for touring if you've got your own transport.

The location is picturesque - literally beside a waterfall. Nice short hike within the compound after breakfast!

Nous avions une chambre spacieuse au 1er étage avec une très bonne literie et une belle vue sur la vallée. Notre salle de bain commune était très propre, comme l’ensemble du gîte. À noter que nous avions également un petit lavabo dans notre chambre. Le petit-déjeuner était vraiment quelconque en produits proposés et la personne qui s’occupait du service manquait de chaleur dans son accueil et avait perdu son sourire…peut-être un mauvais jour pour elle…dommage. De plus, nous manquions vraiment de place pour circuler autour des tables. C’est pour cette raison que je me suis limité à 4 étoiles dans mon jugement
