In general I don’t like to write negative reviews, as I believe that there are many things that can go wrong in life, but I have to say that staying in this hotel was pure craziness. Upon arrival, the clerk told us hotel has some construction and that the noise would be from 8am to 7pm. We were annoyed by the fact that nobody told us about that, and the clerk lied how they tried to contact us, alas, our phone number is international. That is simply not true, as we have been living in China since 2017 and my phone number on trip.com is a Chinese number. I don’t even own an international phone number. We were really angry about the fact that he lied and told him that it was unprofessional, after which he continued to insist that they couldn’t contact us because we booked through the third party (again not true, because I have been contacted by multiple hotels in the past). They put us in a room, after saying that they would cut the payment in half because of this inconvenience. 5 minutes after that, a manager of the hotel calls me (how did she get the number, I wonder….?!) and tells me that our room is too small and that they will put us in a bigger room. I obviously agree, but after that she demands 5 stars review! After everything that happened! The noise was terrible, and there was even construction outside of the hotel in the middle of the night. So no rest at all! Their solution was to give us the earplugs!!! I can’t even explain how annoying this was. If there is a construction that affects someone’s stay, it has to be communicated. In general the location is good and the place is clean. Everything else is just terrible and unprofessional. And of course they didn’t cut the payment in half.

WOW, the hotel and staff are incredible. We have stayed at the Peace Hotel several times over the years and have always been well taken care of. This time was even more special as we got engaged here! I reached out to staff, who were more than accommodating in helping me plan the perfect proposal. A huge appreciation to Lily, Gordon, and the whole Fairmont Gold team for going above and beyond in making our stay one we will always remember. We stayed in the American Suite, and it was pure old world charm. Having stayed in luxury hotels world wide, I can truly say that this hotel and service is one of a kind! We can't wait for our next stay!

We had an amazing experience at MGM Grand, the staff were amazing and professional, very accommodating, spoke english and were extremely courteous. The hotel itself looks amazing, the rooms were great. The best part for us was the breakfast, it was extremely good, not like most hotels in China. Great option. The sky bar on the 59th floor had great vibes, good music, great drinks and snack options. Very intimate seating and friendly staff.

Beautiful hotel with well designed lobby and rooms. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Jing An. Staff are super professional, very attentive and look after you well. One downside is a fundamental for a hotel, we didn’t get one good nights sleep. The beds are great but the room was too warm, even in early spring when the temperature was still low outside. However, the air con was very loud, even on low setting, so to sleep you either had the noise or it was too hot. One night there was also very loud road construction noise from outside from 3-5am. It’s a city, so this happens but other hotels in Shanghai that we’ve been to before seem to make it their business to know and take proactive measures in like informing and apologizing to guests in advance, putting guests in rooms away from the noise, or at least providing earplugs.

My friends in China recommended this hotel and told me that she loves it because it’s relatively inexpensive compared to similar hotels in the area. She also stressed that it is a native Chinese brand hotel that it is easier for her to order food and just anything she needs. I was pleasantly surprised by its decor, service, cleanliness and modern amenities. Our room had a nice big tub, huge shower and toilet with bidet. It’s been a while since I visited Japan and I forgot how nice to have a bidet. The breakfast was a nice addition to our stay since it is included. It served both Chinese and American breakfast with some nice local dishes. The decor is modern Chinese Jiangnan style featuring paintings, Calligraphy, and 3-D animation of gold fishes. I enjoyed working out at the gym as well. Super clean and all equipment are easy to use. There is a Pilate room as well. I didn’t have time to enjoy it. The staff are friendly and helpful. Not to mention that I asked for a power cord, it was delivered by a robot. Five star experience! .

One of the best hotels that I’ve stayed at. Stayed there for 2D1N on March 6 2025 with my partner for our anniversary and booked the city view room with the balcony! The views were great and the Bellagio team gave us a special surprise in our room. The rooms were luxurious and the amenities provided were great. I was checked in and served by a tall slim Chinese guy with glasses (sadly didn’t get his name) and his service was top-notch! We asked him about the promotional events going on at the hotel (Panda collaboration) and he helped us purchase the panda plush that we were looking for and also ensured that we were able to pay in cash (to avoid the 3% international card charge) and also helped us make reservations at the hotel’s restaurant and even gave us a free gift, the Bellagio lion plushie after showing interest in purchasing it! We also went for the hotel breakfast; They have the buffet section (which is quite small) and the made-to-order menu. Although the buffet section is small, everything I ate was at the highest quality and the made-to-order food tasted amazing as well. All in all, because of my 2 days here, I have became a lifelong fan of Bellagio Shanghai and will be staying here the next time I’m back in Shanghai! Kudos to Bellagio Shanghai!

Great location nearby metro line 7 (exit 5), and multiple food, cafes, bakeries, and convenience stores, including a nice shopping too, all within a 2 minute walk. The location benefits from being across from a nice residential compound so it’s not noisy at all at night. The hotel is modern with good amenities including communal laundry/dryer, microwave, and even a free massage chair in the lobby. My room was clean and modern, and it’s nice and quiet. There are different sized rooms and I was fortunate to get an upgrade to a larger room, thanks to the friendly and accommodating staff. Although they do not speak English they do have a phone translation app which works well. All-in-all I recommend this place.

5 Stars! Our experience at Wassim R Hotel was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The hotel itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Every part of our stay felt comfortable and relaxing. I especially want to highlight the incredible service we received from one of the staff members — a kind female staff member with glasses who truly went above and beyond for us. She was so attentive, helpful, and made sure we felt at home throughout our stay. Her genuine hospitality made a huge difference, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she did. Wassim R Hotel exceeded all of our expectations, and thanks to the amazing staff, it felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay. We’re already looking forward to coming back someday!

We must give this Weiting Hotel a thumbs up! From the moment you enter the hall door, you will be surrounded by an absolutely peaceful atmosphere. The delicate and relaxing aroma fills your nose, making you immediately feel happy. Ms. Liang, a staff member, is excellent: always attentive, friendly, and willing to provide assistance at any time, making every stay more special. These facilities are impressive, with spacious rooms, ample natural lighting, and pleasant views outside the windows. The bathroom is dry and wet separated, and the quality of spare parts is very high. The environment of the hotel's executive lounge is elegant, and you can also enjoy afternoon tea and chat, which is very convenient. Across the street is a delicious self-service restaurant with affordable prices and delicious food. Moreover, the transportation is convenient, with a bus stop just 100 meters away and direct access to the Bund. The subway station is only a few hundred meters away, making it easy to go anywhere. Whether it's for business trips or vacations, it's the best choice. The front desk is not only beautiful, but the service is also particularly attentive, patiently helping to handle various problems. I stayed with her last year and this time I booked a room with her. She helped us upgrade our room type for free and even gave us breakfast as a gift. I like it very much!

I had serious concerns about security during my stay at this hotel. There was no safe box in the Business Sky room that I had booked, and housekeeping repeatedly left the emergency exit door by the elevators open throughout the day allowing unrestricted access to the guest floors via the back stairwell. Most seriously, on my last day my room door was left ajar and unlocked for the entire day while I was away. Moreover, the room was smaller than advertised and the reception I received upon arrival was unwelcoming. I arrived a few hours early from London and was treated rudely by the front desk because my room was not yet ready. It seemed I was then allocated an inferior room as a result which I feel was an unprofessional and regrettable experience. The eventually offered a 10% discount because of the open door incident but only after I involved a local rep who discussed the matter with the hotel and Ctrip customer service who were great!

จารุวรรณDisappointing Experience at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai I stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was far from the luxury service I expected. 1. Discrimination at Flair Rooftop Restaurant On my first night, I visited Flair, the hotel's rooftop restaurant. Before going, I was told at the lobby that the restaurant operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations. However, when I arrived at around 5:50 PM, the restaurant was only 20% occupied, yet the host told me it was ”fully booked.” Then, the host questioned my intent, asking whether I was there for drinks or dinner. When I said ”dinner,” he suddenly mentioned a 1,600-yuan minimum spending requirement. I agreed without hesitation and ended up spending over 2,200 yuan. But what truly bothered me was the initial rejection and the selective enforcement of the minimum charge, implying that I was being judged based on my appearance or nationality. If the restaurant was truly full, why was I offered a table once I confirmed I would spend a significant amount? 2. Misleading Room Upgrade Offer & Hidden Promotions When I checked in, I had already booked a suite with a city view for around 4,000 yuan. However, the receptionist tried to upsell me a Pearl Tower view for an additional 3,300 yuan, which is an unreasonable price just for a different view. What’s worse is that she failed to inform me about an existing hotel promotion: (cant remember the amount exactly) If I pre-purchased 1,000 yuan, I could use 1,400 yuan at Flair rooftop restaurant. I only found out about this the next day and when I asked whether I could retroactively apply this promotion to my bill (which was charged to my room), I was told it was not possible because I had to buy the package in advance. Had I known about this offer beforehand, I would have gladly used it. Instead, the staff prioritized upselling me a more expensive view rather than informing me of real benefits available to hotel guests. 3. Concierge Service & Taxi Nightmare The service at the concierge was another major disappointment. I had a reservation at a Chinese restaurant across the river and asked the concierge to arrange a taxi for me. Knowing that taxis in Shanghai can be unreliable and tricky (as I had experienced the night before with an airport taxi taking me to three wrong hotels and turning off the meter), I was relieved when the concierge used Didi (a ride-hailing app) to book a ride. However, when the car arrived, the concierge instructed a bellboy to walk me to the car, but he never confirmed whether it was actually mine. Just as the door was closing, a woman with luggage rushed in, claiming it was her ride to the airport. It turned out the car was not for me but for an entirely different passenger! At this point, I was already late for my dinner reservation. When I walked back to the concierge to ask what happened, he seemed irritated and dismissively said, ”Don’t worry” before reluctantly walking me to the correct car. This lack of professionalism and carelessness was incredibly frustrating. If you’re arranging a ride for a guest, ensure they get into the correct car. Final Thoughts This all happened in just one night—I can't imagine what else could go wrong during my stay. I sincerely hope no other guests have to go through such an experience. The Ritz-Carlton brand is known for its luxury and top-tier hospitality, but what I encountered was discriminatory treatment, misleading sales tactics, and poor service coordination. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their service, ensuring all guests receive fair and professional treatment, regardless of their appearance or nationality. Ps: nice swimming pool by the way!!

GGuest UserStayed 3 nights in the hotel and so glad for that as the location is prime! So easy to access Nanjing East Pedestrian walk and the Bund. Food is all around. We booked a bund view room and no regrets. The view is awesome. Special mention to Oliver. He is the most service-oriented staff we have encountered for this trip. When we came back from our Hangzhou trip for another 2 nights in same hotel, he ensured our room was ready and in good condition, even messaging us to inform that. He also provided recommendation when we asked him where we can find good food. Great customer service. Also saw him providing help to all the other guests, always patient. The staff at the mini bar on lobby floor was also very nice and friendly. Overall, happy to have chosen this hotel.

GGuest UserThe Bund is a very nice location and the Hyatt is a beautiful hotel with the 32nd Vue Bar and a spectacular view it is!! Very clean, beautiful lobby and restaurant on 2nd floor. The restaurant offers a buffet very large and delectable selection of food, specialty items, desserts and variety is incredible! Enjoyed the ice cream bar! Great service, too! Staff attentive, and the Spa offered a very nice massage treatment with body scrub and essential oils for a relaxing treatment after a very long flight! My blood was circulating again and the firm pressure of Momo, was certainly very good! I am a new World of Hyatt member after this stay!

TTriciaaaaaaKunlun Jing’an is our go-to hotel whenever we visit Shanghai. We live in Hangzhou and often travel to Shanghai, usually on weekends. Since moving to Hangzhou last year, we’ve always stayed at this hotel—it’s become our preferred choice because of the excellent service, comfortable rooms, and outstanding staff. Everyone, from the concierge to the hotel bar, room service, breakfast team, and front desk, has been helpful and professional. We’ve never had any issues during our stays—in fact, this was our fifth time staying here. However, during our recent stay on Friday night, for my husband’s weekend birthday celebration, we encountered some problems. We checked in late and went straight out for dinner. When we returned to our room, I stepped on a wet patch next to the bed. I was fairly certain it was urine, but we gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt, assuming it might just be water. We called the operator—who, I must say, was not the most helpful staff member we’ve encountered here. She sent two employees to inspect the wet spot, and they insisted it was only water. We offered to dry it ourselves with a hairdryer, so my husband tried. As soon as he began, a strong odor became apparent—it definitely smelled like urine. My husband pressed tissues onto the rug to check the liquid’s colour, and they turned yellow. We called the operator again, and she said someone would come to re-examine it. After waiting 15 minutes with no response, we called once more at 11:30 PM—I was exhausted by this point. My husband spoke to the same person, who assured us someone would arrive soon. Again, no one came. At 12:30 AM, my husband called again, now extremely frustrated. Finally, a staff member arrived and called someone on the phone what I assume was the hotel manager. To our disappointment, the manager asked an unreasonable question: “What time did you check in? Why didn’t you report this immediately?” My husband replied that we had entered the room at 7 PM, we were thinking why we would inspect every inch of the rug for wet patches? Eventually, they moved us to another room of the same type. After settling in, I took a shower and reached for the body lotion from the bathroom amenities—only to find it half-used. By then, I was at my limit and wanted to complain at the front desk, but it was already 1 AM, and I was too tired. We decided to sleep and address it in the morning. After breakfast, we spoke to a front desk staff member, who was very kind, apologetic, and helpful. She brought the manager, who also apologized and upgraded us to a beautiful suite. While we appreciated the gesture, this might be our last stay at this hotel. That said, the staff at Kunlun Jing’an are truly excellent—this experience was just an unfortunate exception.

TTonyJsoFacilities were to the level that you would expect from a Hyatt Hotel. Location ok with easy access to the subway station and the ferry terminal. Adequate food options available in the area. Con’s The lift from ground floor to the reception on 54th floor. This lift doesn’t go higher so you need to exit the lift walk through the lobby and go to another bank of lifts to then travel to your room. Same for going down, two sets of lifts walk through the lobby to access the lift going to the ground floor. I extended my initial one night stay to two additional nights so I went to reception and asked the staff member to update my room card otherwise it wouldn’t let me in the room. Explained to the staff member, she checked my new booking in the system, asked if I had already paid I answered yes it was paid via Trip. She then handed me the room cards back, I asked her again if the cards had been updated. She replied yes. I went out for a few hours came back same scenario lift to lobby walk through find the other lift go to room. Key card doesn’t work, went down the lift walk to the lobby…….same girl Oh let me check with another person. Key cards handed back, walk to the lift go to my room and the door opens. Wanted to enquire about sending a jacket back home via post, spoke with reception who called the concierge ground floor then advised me to go to the concierge at around 8am to discuss. I went to the concierge ground floor and was told postal service has a minimum fee of 500 yuan but they would check the cost and call my room. No call was made to my room. On checking out there were room service charges that reception and I agreed would be deducted from the deposit and the balance returned by way of how it was paid. Apple Pay I left Shanghai and continued my travel in China, I received a call from Trip advising me that Hyatt had contacted them regarding an unpaid room service bill. I explained above to the Trip Agent who reverted back to Hyatt. Trip Agent called me back and explained that Hyatt had inadvertently refunded the full amount without deducting the room S bill and they wanted payment. We agreed that Hyatt would contact me via email. I checked my Apple Pay wallet and could see that the Hyatt had attempted twice to charge me the fee which was declined by Apple Pay as no point of sale authorisation was provided by me. I feel this was deceptive by Hyatt and not acceptable. After returning home I received an email from Hyatt with payment options QR code, I checked that the initial deposit had been refunded before processing the payment. The deceptive action by the Hyatt in trying to process charges without my knowledge or consent is not acceptable.

GGoldnThe service in this hotel felt as if I had booked a Diamond rated hotel!! Everyone was so polite, super friendly and willing to help at a moments notice without even having to ASK for help! From showing my mom and I our room, helping with luggage, super accommodating with shuttle bus for Disney, and always near with our “taxi” issues (which, they were so patient and understanding while dealing with rude people!). The food was good, for me personally though, I easily get sick so the porridge, rice and vegetables were great options! Although perhaps there needs to be a bit more variety I will say, the tea service was fantastic!! Overall, everything was excellent! 😊✨👌

SStephen SutantoA very decent, practical and comfortable stay. The location is within 5mins walk from the nearest Metro Station (Dapuqiao). The hotel has aged, but still very well-maintained. The room is spacious, bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is big and nice as well. Breakfast is decent but a little disappointing, especially if you come down late they may not top-up the food and beverages anymore. But the selection is quite good. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Overall very good stay and value-for-money. Recommend.
