GGuest UserThis hotel is quite close to Pudong Airport, and it's convenient to get to by taxi or subway. As soon as we arrived, the staff warmly greeted us at the entrance. The check-in process was handled very professionally, and they even told us about their free laundry service, which was a real bonus for us as we had clothes that needed washing. The best part was that an attendant would come directly to our room, take our laundry, wash and dry it, and then deliver it back to our door – incredibly convenient! The staff was also very thoughtful; if you're worried about oversleeping, they offer a wake-up service, which is perfect for those who like to hit the snooze button. It’s great to be able to enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out. Really good!

SShanghai based coupleAs a couple who has lived in Shanghai together for almost 10 years, with one of us also Shanghainese, we have been to a lot of the best places in Shanghai, and some of the more recommended places in about 20 cities in the broader nearby area. Nothing in the city or within several hours of high-speed rail compares to a stay at Ritz-Carlton Pudong. In Asia and indeed the planet, this impeccable hotel experience stands as an iconic example of old-world elegance and service. In addition, it also offers a unique view of both some of the most modern and tallest buildings and the city’s famed Bund riverside, home to a variety of art deco architectural masterpieces. We had the incredible good fortune to start our honeymoon at the Ritz in Pudong, and this last stay was our last honeymoon treat. As always, it was a spectacular experience that we cannot recommend enough. The most extraordinary part of the stay really is the staff, they are all world class people who go above and beyond to make the Ritz-Carlton Pudong such an exceptional institution in one of the world’s leading cities. Sincere thanks to the whole team for making this happen, including Cherryl, who made reservation delightfully effortless, Chris who helped us to our room, and Joey and Ruby who helped in the evening. Special and heartfelt thanks to the whole team who make the Club Lounge experience world beating: Eddie and Junita, who both lead by example, have a deep passion for the details that create excellence, as well as being just the nicest people. They are both incredibly inspiring leaders and professionals. Claire is generally excellent there but also was phenomenally helpful to get a bag back when it was left behind, we really apricated that. Jeramy and Vivian also are amazing, as are Club Lounge’s chef’s Joe and Austin. Sherry is a real star, attentive, sharp and so helpful. Last but not least, Helen, who was the first person to greet us after we got married, and fittingly the last person to help us create personalised room key cards with our wedding photo on it, and most recently a special photo of family from our honeymoon. Those keycards are really cool keepsakes, but making them is not as simple as you might think: the image is etched into the key, not printed, so the original photo needs to be translated by AI into an image that the etching system is capable of delivering, which is really impressive. When I showed my mom who lives very far away, even she was impressed with Helen’s work. Ordinarily we prioritise new experiences over more of the same, regardless of how comfortable and nice it is. But regardless of how hard we try, we have not been able to figure out a better way to celebrate our biggest moments than a stay at the Ritz in Pudong.

GGuest UserI chose this hotel mainly for its location, which was fantastic! 👍👍👍 It's 770 meters from the subway station and 1100 meters from North Bund. Since I traveled from Hangzhou to Shanghai by high-speed rail and then subway, and wanted to visit the Bund, the hotel's location really appealed to me. With enough time, you can easily walk to North Bund and then stroll further to the Bund itself. [shy R] Now, about my stay: this is actually a popular hotel, and many Taobao models were taking photos in the ground-floor restaurant where afternoon tea is served. The decor downstairs is indeed very French and looks great for pictures. 👍 We booked a twin room. Compared to the lobby, the room decor was a bit more ordinary, but the value for money was still good. If everything were top-notch, the price would definitely be higher. 😂 The front desk staff, especially the young man, was very friendly. After check-in, I added him on WeChat. Deliveries go into a locker, and you can ask him to retrieve your order and have it sent up by a robot. Breakfast didn't have a huge variety, but there was enough to eat. They offered Old Shanghai specialties like xiaolongbao, soy milk, fried dough sticks, and doufunao (tofu pudding), as well as bacon and salmon. My sister loved the tea eggs, but I don't recall anything particularly amazing. [disappointed R] Overall, the value for money is excellent, and I would consider staying here again. [doge]

GGuest UserStayed at the Banyan Tree on the Bund with my parents during Chinese New Year. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly warm and patient. The rooms are genuinely spacious, and the scallion oil noodles for breakfast were absolutely delicious – a must-order every morning! The hotel's location is also excellent, in North Bund. When choosing a hotel, I was debating whether to stay directly on the Bund, and now I'm so glad I didn't. It's truly too crowded there during peak tourist season. This location is much better, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. And here's the best part: we got upgraded to a Bund river-view room, and the view was absolutely unbeatable. The room rate felt entirely worth it. Next time I'm in Shanghai, Banyan Tree will definitely be my top choice.

GGuest UserMy experience in the king room at Pullman Shanghai Jing'an was absolutely amazing, and the front desk service was top-notch! As soon as I arrived, the front desk staff greeted me with a warm smile, handled the check-in efficiently and quickly, and even thoughtfully introduced the hotel's facilities and local transportation. They answered all my questions professionally, instantly relieving any travel fatigue. The room itself was a good size with fantastic panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offering superb city views. The cleanliness was impeccable, paying attention to every detail, making for an excellent overall experience. Throughout my stay, I truly felt the hotel's professionalism and attentiveness. The efficient front desk service combined with the ultimate comfort of the king room makes it perfect for both business trips and leisure getaways. It's definitely a top choice for accommodation in Shanghai, and I'll choose this place again next time I visit!

GGuest UserI highly recommend the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund; the concierge service was absolutely impeccable! Aaron, Emily, and Katrina were incredibly gentle and friendly, meticulous and responsible in their work. They proactively anticipated our needs and offered help, always responsive and accommodating to our requests. They made the entire stay comfortable and heartwarming, leaving a truly lasting impression.

LLindayangThis is a well-established hotel in Changning District, offering exceptional value for money. While the facilities might be a bit dated, they are very well-maintained. Every service staff member, from the front desk and concierge to the restaurant and housekeeping teams, is incredibly polite and courteous. I would definitely return for another stay.

HHuaqunzidexiatianI had to change the dates for a room I booked for Chinese New Year, as my plans changed. Big thanks to the Trip.com customer service for helping coordinate with the hotel. Upon check-in, I met Agnes, whose professionalism and attentiveness made me feel so welcome. She handled both check-in and check-out swiftly and efficiently – truly professional. However, when we first arrived, the concierge was just standing by the door, completely ignoring us. They didn't even glance our way, let alone open the door. I was really put off by that. While I know a bit about the Andaz brand philosophy, it's still a service industry, and that felt a bit too 'free-spirited' for my liking. On a positive note, breakfast deserves praise. Hyatt's F&B is consistently excellent. A small detail that stood out was after I finished my coffee, the server proactively asked if I wanted a refill and brought it right over to my table. I felt seen and appreciated their service-minded approach. The housekeeping staff were also very thoughtful. When we returned to our room, it had just been cleaned. My child wanted to call for ice, and one of the staff members offered to arrange it for us, saying it would be delivered shortly. It was a really nice touch and definitely an example of service exceeding expectations. Leaving the hotel, I have to mention the concierge again. They actually opened the door for us with one hand while the other hand was busy scrolling on their phone.

ZZhangyuqzThe hotel's overall ambiance is comfortable, grand, and luxurious, with meticulous and warm service (upon entering, you're greeted with smiles and warm welcomes from every staff member). This Chinese New Year, my family and I returned to the Hyatt on the Bund (this is our second stay since the renovation). The renovated rooms are even more comfortable, and the cleanliness is impeccable. They've also added a table and chairs, a sofa, and a mini-fridge, giving it a home-away-from-home feeling. Furthermore, this year the hotel hosted a New Year's Eve dinner in the lobby, which created a wonderfully festive atmosphere. Though strangers, everyone, young and old, felt the hotel's warm and enthusiastic service – truly a vibrant start to the New Year! What's more, the hotel changed the breakfast location and style. While this undoubtedly increased the hotel's workload, it significantly reduced waiting times for guests (on the second morning of the New Year, they even added temporary waiting areas in the hallway with drinks and small snacks). These small details reflect the management's thoughtful approach: continuously improving based on guest needs, always putting guests first, and excelling in every aspect of service to meet their requirements. This is why I've consistently chosen this hotel for many years (both before and after the renovation).

GGuest UserThis hotel is located in the heart of Jing'an Temple commercial district, with a subway station conveniently nearby, making transportation excellent. The room's cleanliness was average, but the various facilities inside were well-maintained and all functioned properly. All staff members were professional and enthusiastic. Due to its age, the only drawback was that showering could only be done in the bathtub, which felt a bit unsafe. Also, there's no elevator from the parking garage to the first floor, so you have to use the stairs, which isn't ideal for the elderly or disabled. The lobby of this old-school five-star hotel is still quite grand, and parking is free.
