When I came to Damei Xinjiang, the scenery was temporarily put aside, first to recommend a fun and delicious place: Xinjiang National Grand Bazaar.
This is one of the most lively Grand Bazaars in Urumqi, bringing together the unique products of Xinjiang, including carpets, costumes, scarves, all kinds of dried fruits, gourmet snacks, handicrafts and so on.
The most exciting thing for me is the gold, silver, copper and iron handicrafts, which are unique and beautiful.
Then come to Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar | The world's largest Grand Bazaar
Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar is located in Tianshan District, Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Hongshan Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
Taking a summer stroll in Urumqi, Red Hill Park is a must-visit spot for cooling off and enjoying the shade
Red Hill Park is located in the center of Urumqi, like a dazzling green gem embedded in the bustling city. Taking a walk inside, and then riding the Ferris wheel to view Urumqi, is simply a pleasure.
From the distant-viewing tower in Red Hill Park, one can gaze at the Tianshan mountain range. The green mountains and fresh air bring a different kind of surprise. In summer, the park is a cool retreat with its shady green trees.
As a symbolic landmark of Urumqi, Red Hill Park's main attractions include: the Tower Reflecting the Setting Sun, Distant-Viewing Tower, Heroic Steles, Tiger Head Red Cliffs, Wulong Fountain, and more than ten other spots, as well as various amusement facilities.
If you're traveling to Urumqi, consider visiting the park. The beautiful scenery of Red Hill Park in summer, with its undulating beauty, is worth checking in!

Beautiful Xinjiang, beautiful Urumqi
In the northwest of the motherland, there is a beautiful city surrounded by sapphire-like rivers--Urumqi. It's like a dazzling pearl, quietly lying on the northwest frontier.
Urumqi is beautiful, prosperous, and colorful. In short, Urumqi is full of charm. Now, let me take you to see Urumqi!
First of all, what comes into view is Hongshan. As a landmark of Urumqi, its green trees all over the mountain are really refreshing. But do you know that many years ago, Hongshan was a barren mountain full of red rocks, and after the hard work of several generations, carrying soil shoulder by shoulder, planting trees one by one, they finally turned the barren mountain into the green Hongshan today. As soon as you enter the gate of Hongshan, you can see a sculpture, which is built to commemorate the hard-working people!
Next, let's go to see the tallest building in Urumqi--Zhongtian Square! Zhongtian Square is a high-end building integrating office buildings, commercial residences, and leisure and entertainment. Looking from a distance, it stands like a pillar in the center of the city, like a giant, supporting the sky. Zhongtian Square is located in the busiest Xiaoximen area of Urumqi, where there are crowds of people and a constant flow of vehicles, becoming a highlight of Urumqi.
In the blink of an eye, it's night, let's go and enjoy the night view of Urumqi! The night view of Urumqi is dazzling, colorful, like a fairy tale world. The colorful neon lights flash out colorful glows, making Urumqi a city that never sleeps.
Urumqi, like a dazzling pearl, shines on the frontier of the motherland.
Hongshan Park | A place overlooking Urumqi!
Urumqi Hongshan Park, named after its location on Hongshan. The mountain body of Hongshan is composed of purple conglomerate, which is reddish, hence the name "Hongshan". Hongshan is a symbol of Urumqi, Xinjiang. From the top of Hongshan, you can overlook the snow-capped peaks of Tianshan Bogda and overlook the cityscape of Urumqi.
✅Recommended for play🔥:
1⃣️Hongshan Tower🗼: It has a history of more than two hundred years, the tower is 10.5 meters high, it is a solid brick tower built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. "The tower reflects the setting sun" is one of the eight scenes of Urumqi, this position is equivalent to the highest point of Hongshan Park, where you can overlook the entire Urumqi!
2⃣️Dafo Temple🕍: There are red silk wish ropes tied to the trees, although it is small, it can also be photographed.
3⃣️Observation deck: Next to the , you can take pictures of the Ferris wheel, and you can take pictures of the snow-capped mountains🗻 when the weather is good.
4⃣️Ferris wheel🎡: You have to get on before it gets dark, a circle is about 15-20min (25 yuan per person)

✅Sunset viewing time: 8 o'clock in summer, 7 o'clock in winter (flexible adjustment)
Today's Hongshan Park has become a good place for locals to relax. It is different from the magnificent Xinjiang in my impression. When the sunset is sprinkled, it is the delicate and prosperous fireworks of Urumqi.
Xinjiang | Come and watch a sunset at 10 pm
Beijing time in the Eastern Eight Districts at night🎑
It's just the home court of the sunset in Urumqi, Xinjiang.
Compared with the Century Pavilion in Yamalik Mountain Park,
Hongshan Park is more friendly to travelers.
The Bogda Snow Peak 5445, 100 kilometers away,
is the commanding height of the Eastern Tianshan Mountains.
And in the viewfinder of Hongshan,
it has become the background of the entire Urumqi city area🏔️
The summer sunset is at 9:30-10:00 in the evening.
It is best to arrive at the viewing tower or viewing platform 30 minutes in advance.
The east gate is easier to climb, there are no stairs, about 10 minutes.
After watching the sunset, you can eat late-night snacks at the night market on the platform, it's very lively~

Tianshan (“Heavenly Mountain”) Grand Canyon, Ürümqi Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
Xinjiang | I'm back from the snow in Urumqi
This journey really amazed me, especially the straight road windmill snow mountain, which gives a feeling of pretending to be abroad. After passing the Urumqi toll inspection station from the G30 national highway, the right side is the Tianshan mountain range all the way, and the left side is the winding snow mountain all the way. I was a bit disappointed at first, because the snow mountain scenery I wanted to shoot was all on the left side. On a whim, I saw that the ticket for the Tianshan Grand Canyon plus the interval car was only 58 yuan, so I decisively navigated there. I didn't expect to go directly to the winding snow mountain after going around the toll station. It's so beautiful. There is no cause and effect in the world. Many people can only walk silently on the path of kindness and misfortune, and finally hide all kinds of helplessness in the world with a faint self-mockery or complete silence.

Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
At the beginning of May, the Xinjiang Museum, with its mummy figurines' expression packs and Hetian jade, can rival tourist attractions
🍃 Is the peak tourist season in Xinjiang starting from the May Day holiday?
🍃 I thought that there would be a lot of people during the May Day holiday, so I decided to avoid some popular tourist spots and go to the museum instead, thinking it would be less crowded. But, but... Before the Xinjiang Museum even opened, there were already countless people waiting at the door to get in! There must have been at least dozens, if not hundreds. Is it really that popular? I'm dizzy!
🍃 The Xinjiang Museum is truly a treasure trove of a museum. It is one of the first batch of national first-class museums, with one underground floor and two above-ground floors, housing many precious exhibits.
🌸 【Highlights】
🔸 The mummy exhibition hall contains more than a dozen mummies, ranging from the pre-Qin period to the Tang dynasty, truly a 'national treasure.' Because the images are a bit scary, I won't post them.
🔸 Various figurines, clay servants, tomb-guarding beasts, etc., are lifelike. There are large group figurines as well as individual tomb-guarding beasts, the Four Heavenly Kings, or character servants, all worth seeing.
🔸 Some cultural relics are both beautiful and fun, like picture 5, which can be used as an expression pack!
🔸 The Hetian white jade (picture 7) is really too beautiful! So beautiful even after so many years! It's now very hard to see real Hetian jade, as the vast majority is Qinghai jade, which is not as white or as delicate and smooth.
🔸 The 'Painted Fuxi and Nuwa Silk Painting' in picture 9 is from the Tang dynasty, and it has been over 1000 years, yet it still looks lifelike!
❤️ Friends traveling to Urumqi in Xinjiang, don't miss out on the Xinjiang Museum, this treasure of a free destination!
Mummy Land.
Hey, do you know where the most beautiful mummy is? They're so pretty and lifelike, it's like they're just sleeping. i went to that museum twice in my late vacation in Urumqi. #musuem #mummy #urumqi #xinjiang #china #trip #mylife #rainnyday
Niya Museum in Minfeng County - Brocade Arm Protector
"Five stars rise in the east to benefit China" - this brocade arm protector was unearthed from the Niya site in Minfeng County, Xinjiang, which was the ancient Kingdom of Jingjue. The relic dates back to the Eastern Han Dynasty and is one of the first batch of cultural relics prohibited from being exhibited abroad by China. It is acclaimed as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century in China. It is housed in the Xinjiang Museum and is also the treasure of the museum.
During my visit to the museum, I specifically asked for a guide. While she was explaining this artifact, I also mentioned that even the Japanese excavation team was stunned when this ancient tomb was discovered. The Japanese could not believe that such ancient prophecies existed during the Han Dynasty. Being very interested in history, I have visited many historical exhibition halls and museums during my two months of travel in Xinjiang. I am especially attracted to the history of the ancient states among the Thirty-Six States of the Western Regions and the cultural relics unearthed from the tombs.
📌Discovering History In October 1995, members of the China-Japan Niya Site Academic Expedition Team were conducting routine archaeological excavations at a cemetery in the Niya site in Minfeng County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang. However, for several months, their excavations at the Niya site had not yielded any new discoveries.
Just when they were about to give up in disappointment, the archaeologists uncovered an ancient tomb. It was a joint burial tomb for two people. The two individuals in the tomb were dressed in many garments, but the most eye-catching was a brightly colored brocade tied to the right arm of one of the corpses. The brocade was dazzling in color, vigorous in text, mysterious in pattern, and magical in meaning, immediately attracting everyone's attention. Without much identification, the archaeologists recognized the text woven on the brocade: 'Five stars rise in the east to benefit China.'
📌Coincidence or Divine Prophecy? The 'five stars,' 'east,' and 'China' mentioned in this phrase all correspond to our current situation, inevitably leading to wild speculations. But upon deeper analysis, 'five stars' actually refers to the 'alignment of five planets,' which was a very auspicious celestial event in ancient China, and 'China' refers to the Central Plains. After a piece of brocade with the words 'subdue the Southern Qiang' was unearthed, people linked the two phrases together for a more in-depth study.
Considering the social context of the time, the phrase was actually saying that when the magical celestial event of the alignment of five planets appeared in the east, it was beneficial for the Central Plains dynasty to subdue the Southern Qiang. The creation of this brocade text was undoubtedly a practical testimony of the central dynasty combining the celestial divination with the military campaign 'subdue the Southern Qiang' to wish for political and military success and auspiciousness. People believe in divine prophecies hoping to bring good luck to China and to mark a good omen for the great rejuvenation of our China.
How to have fun on your first visit to Urumqi? This museum is worth visiting
🌟When traveling to Urumqi, how can you miss the Xinjiang Museum, a national first-class museum? Although it's not as famous as the Forbidden City or the Shaanxi History Museum, it has a lot of unique cultural relics.
🌟These unique cultural relics were mainly excavated from the Astana tombs in Turpan. According to statistics, there are more than 500 tombs in the Astana tomb complex, spanning a history of more than 500 years from the early Western Jin Dynasty to the mid-Tang Dynasty.
🌟The tomb owners included both officials and commoners, so there are top-level cultural relics among them. Let's see what they have?
1️⃣ First of all, you must see the Fuxi and Nuwa painting, which is a 2.2-meter-long silk painting created by a Tang Dynasty artist. The theme is the scene of Fuxi and Nuwa, from ancient Chinese mythology, embracing and mating. If you look closely, you can see that in the painting, Fuxi and Nuwa's upper bodies are embracing, with Fuxi holding a carpenter's square and Nuwa holding a compass, and the lines above and below outline the sun, moon, and stars.
2️⃣ Next, take a look at the painted wooden figurines in silk garments, which are also national treasures, unearthed from the tomb of the famous general Zhang Xiong and his wife. If you look closely, you can see that the female figurine has yellow on her forehead, painted cheeks, red slanted lines, and colored lips, which is the typical makeup of Tang Dynasty women. Looking at the clothes, they are also the popular silk fabrics of the time, and after a thousand years, the silk texture of the clothes is still rich in color.
3️⃣ Finally, don't miss the food cultural relics unearthed from the ancient tombs, such as the treasure flower mooncake; pastries in the shapes of plum blossoms and leaves; wheat foods like wontons and roasted naan; and dried fruits like raisins and apricots; all of which show us the rich cuisine of Xinjiang at that time.
🌟It can be said that there are not many visitors to the Xinjiang Museum, but it was a pleasant surprise for me, especially these cultural relics unearthed from the ancient tombs.

Hemu Scenic Area Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
Winter Wonderland Escapades, Hemu Village
Hemu Village is a small village situated in Kanas Nature Reserve in Altay, northern Xinjiang. It is the most remote and largest of the three habitats of the Tuvas, an ethnic group who still live a simple, ancient lifestyle by grazing animals and hunting. It has been voted by a travel magazine as one of the five most beautiful villages in China.
The scenery during winter is exceptionally beautiful. The entire experience is enhanced by the beautiful rustic surroundings that are shrouded in a thick veil of white fluffy soft snow.
This is one of my favourite place throughout my trip.

Take a trip to Hemu for the Dragon Boat Festival, and you will find yourself in a fairy tale world
Hemu, known as 'God's own reserve', is filled with an ancient and mysterious fairy tale charm. It is also the most comfortable place in the Altay region, at least that's how I feel.
On the way to Hemu village, we also encountered the masters of this land - the sheep. Everyone has to stop for the flock of sheep to pass first, as it is a rule that must be followed here. Watching the sheep walk by in front of you, who says this isn't a healing ritual?
In Xinjiang, the most beautiful scenery is always on the road, but in Hemu, integrating into local life is the most beautiful scenery. Chatting over tea in a wooden house, walking and enjoying the view at Harden Terrace, listening to history at the Aid Xinjiang Bridge, everything is so beautiful and peaceful.
Xinjiang Altay + Ili + Duku 12-Day Tour
Go to Xinjiang once! This is a place favored by heaven. In Xinjiang, you can see vast grasslands, like a green ocean, with galloping horses and flocks of sheep dotting the landscape like clouds.
The Tianshan Mountains are majestic and spectacular, with snow-capped peaks shining with mysterious light under the sun.
Lakes are embedded in the earth like sapphires, with clear waters reflecting the blue sky and white clouds, creating a breathtaking view.

Xinjiang Tourism Guide Li Yongfu Hiking alone in Altay, I've grown weary by myself
One person
Carrying a backpack
Venturing into the wilderness
The wilderness pays me no mind
🌿
To be honest, I haven't read Li Juan's 'My Altay' yet, and I haven't had the chance to watch the popular TV series either, but that doesn't diminish my love and longing for these wilds.
🌿
The first day, with moderate rain, the annoying and time-consuming scenic area shuttle bus, public bus, and coach took at least 3 hours before finally reaching the depths of Kanas. The weather is still very cold, but I'm pleased that the mountain wind and cold rain have significantly reduced the number of tourists.
🌿
Life is like a vast wilderness
Don't expend too much on the trivialities
One person with a backpack, filled with my passion and freedom, accompanied by wind and rain, vanishing into the endless wilderness dream.
🌿
The second day, clear skies, after the slow-moving scenic area coach and public bus, I continued trekking in Hemu. The last time I was here was for New Year's skiing, and now it's completely different, full of life and bustling with people.
🌿
Practical tips:
🎙1. The scenery in Kanas and Hemu is indeed fantastic. However, Jiadengyu, which is several dozen miles away, blocks the way with expensive tickets and scenic area buses that also consume time. It is recommended to allocate plenty of time. If possible, consider buying a two-day pass. Otherwise, you really won't be able to enjoy much.
🏔2. The scenery along the way is equally amazing. If you're driving yourself, take it slow. When stopping to enjoy the view, make sure to park in a safe area.
⏰3. Ticket checking time: 8:30-20:00
🎫Ticket price: Kanas 230 (scenic area ticket + shuttle bus), Hemu 102 (scenic area ticket + shuttle bus)
🏡4. The wooden house accommodations inside are quite expensive, and many tourists play during the day and return to Burqin to stay at night.
💎5. If it's safe, venture further into the distance and the forest for a walk, there are surprises, fewer people, and you can take photos without restraint.
