I only had 12 hours in Xi’an but I made the most of it. First, I booked a hotel near the city wall so that when I woke up I could easily explore it. The city wall was magnificent. I hired a bike on top of the wall and rode around it. From the exit, I ordered a Didi (taxi) to the pagoda. I also bought a ticket to enter the pagoda. I climbed to the top of the pagoda and was able to get a great view of the courtyard. When in Xi’an, grab yourself a Chinese hamburger (roujiamo - pronounced row - gee - uh - more) and some Biang Biang noodles. You won’t regret eating these foods and you can find them everywhere!

Wearing Hanfu, it feels like entering the heyday of the Tang Dynasty. 💢Suggestion 2: Shaanxi History Museum and Beilin Museum are closed on Mondays. Please check the time and make an appointment in advance before departure. 💢Suggestion 3: Don’t buy Lantian jade behind the Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Scenic Area, as the authenticity cannot be guaranteed. If you hold real Lantian jade up to the light and look carefully, you will see cotton-like texture inside the jade. If not, it is not real jade. 💢Suggestion 4: If you have plenty of time after visiting the Terracotta Warriors, you can go to Lishan Garden. You can take a sightseeing bus directly and there are free public explanations. 💢Suggestion 5: The subway is the best choice for traveling in Xi'an, especially during rush hour, when taxis or buses will be very congested. 💢Suggestion 6. The Bell Tower and the Drum Tower are not far apart, so you can visit them together. Tickets for the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower are both 30R. There is also a chime performance on the Drum Tower. Location: Bell Tower, the center of Xi'an. Also known as Zhong Lou. Getting there: Take line 2 subway to Zhong Lou station. This landmark is in the very center of Xi'an. It is located between the north and south gate of the city wall. A short walk from Muslim street, this is a large roundabout area where you can admire this traditional building. You can pay 35 RMB to get inside and get a fine view of Xi'an from the top. I enjoy going to the City Wall and go to Drum Tower (both nearby) to photograph Bell Tower. I started from the southern gate, Yongning Gate, but there was a huge crowd because of the Lunar New Year festival. Unfortunately, I couldn't ride my bike. What a shame. 　At night, various places in the ancient city are lit up, so I recommend taking a walk at night.
