Though much of Pit 2 is still under excavation, several fully restored soldiers are displayed in protective glass cases, allowing you to get incredibly close to their facial expressions, hairstyles, and armor. The kneeling archer, one of the most famous figures, is here — perfectly preserved down to the soles of his shoes. Pit 2 feels quieter and more mysterious, like walking through a war room frozen mid-planning.

Here’s how to conquer Xi’an and Lantian in a week of history, food, and even some slopes action! Day 1: Arrive in Xi’an and base yourself at Xi’an Gaoxin Holiday Inn — super convenient for getting around. Day 2: 🚴♂️ Cycle or stroll Xi’an City Wall (open 8:00-22:00; addresses span four gates). Bring a windbreaker for those high sections! Day 3: Drum Tower and Muslim Quarter — go early to avoid crowds and snack on beef pancakes and pomegranate juice. Day 4: Head out to Lintong for the Terracotta Warriors No. 2 Pit (Museum open 8:30-17:00). Stay locally for easy morning access. Pro tip: Skip the gift shop, and spend time in all three pits. Day 5: Lintong Duty-Free for a little retail therapy, then transfer back to Xi’an. Day 6: Snow day! Hit Bailuyuan Yingshicheng Ski Field in Lantian (S107), easy cab or Didi from Xi’an. Rent gear onsite — just nab early morning slots for prime snow. Day 7: Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Yanta Rd, open 8:30–17:40, ¥10). Take a stroll through Qujiang Book Town for coffee + chill reads. Day 8: Zen out at Small Wild Goose Pagoda Heritage Park (No. 72 Youyi W Rd; open 9:00–17:30, closed Tuesdays). Museum is next door with neat Tang dynasty relics! I was in Xian in July. It was wonderful experience, even though it was too hot (almost 50 Celsius degrees). This city is full of history. In every corner you’ll find your own place. I highly recommend to you to go to Muslim quarter( you try street food), of course, you have to go to Tera Cotta army, and tan street. This city has convenient subway. It will be easy to go everywhere. It’s definitely your must have!

### Afterwards of a four-day and three-night trip to Xi'an After four days and three nights in Xi'an, I still feel so shocked! The most memorable of these, of course, was seeing the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. When I stepped into the Terracotta Warriors Museum, I was greeted by a huge exhibition hall with thousands of pottery figurines on display. Each terracotta warrior has its own unique expression, as if telling a story of history. I was particularly struck by the details, whether it was the folds on the garment or the look on the face, each pottery figurines seemed to be alive. Moreover, their bodies were very large, and standing in front of them, they really felt a magnificent aura, as if they had gone back more than two thousand years ago and witnessed the majesty of the Qin Dynasty. Having made a travel list at a young age, the Terracotta Warriors has always been one of my dream spots. Visiting in person, the feeling is really beyond words, as if you can hear the echo of history, which is doubly shocking. When it comes to food, Xi’an’s cuisine really surprises me. Because I love eating noodles, Xi’an is really my food paradise! biang biang noodles are particularly delicious, the noodles are thick and bouncy, with rich seasonings, you really can't stop one bite after another. The oil splash noodles are even stronger, when you eat the oil fragrance overflowing, spicy flavor full, makes people try to become a main customer. Moreover, the color of spinach noodles is beautiful, fresh and healthy to eat, really satisfying! Then watched the new stage play 赳赳大 Qin, because it was too cold, so chose this indoor stage play, very good to see very compact plot, then because after watching the Terracotta Warriors and then see this stage play to feel more deeply strongly recommended Overall, this trip to Xi’an was really full of surprises, both the history and culture and the food, which satisfied me. Hot spring day in April where we took a TripAdvisor tour to the Terra-cotta Warriors. I had researched whether I can do this independently or take a tour and the BEST decision is to TAKE A TOUR. Hotel pick up early in the morning and off we go. Need to go early to avoid too many people. Tour guide would explain a lot about China and the history of the Qin Dynasty. It was a 45mins-1hr mini bus ride to Lintong city. There was many people there already at 9am with many tour groups lining up. We took approx 10mins to walk across to the park. The line to the checkin point was busy but moving fast. Then a restroom break before we move in to the next checkpoint. Once in the museum we went into the shop where the farmer was inside signing autographs as he had discovered the Terracotta warriors when he was digging the ground. We had to buy a book and then took a photo with him. Next was inside Pit 1, crowded but managed to find a spot right at the front. Magnificent view of all the warriors facing you. Next was Pit 3, smaller is size and not much to see. Then Pit 2, also small but only some broken pieces of the warriors and horses which are not dug up completely. Best Pit was of course Pit 1. After that there was the museum where you can watch the films and see the statues of the Knee archer, horses, weapons, animals and artefacts. Very interesting! We had lunch further down at a traditional Xi’an Chinese restaurant. Nice food after a long day. Mini bus took us back to the Wild Goose Pagoda and we stopped off there.

The guardians of his tomb were discovered by chance. In 1974 peasants drilling a well uncovered an underground vault that eventually yielded thousands of terracotta soldiers and horses in battle formation. There are 3 areas where you can see the soldiers, but the most stunning is the Pit 1, which is the largest. Housed in a building the size of an aircraft hangar, it is believed to contain 6000 warriors (only 2000 are on display) and horses, all facing east and ready for battle. The Army of the Terracotta Warriors is easily reached by public bus. From Xi'an train station take one of the air-conditioned buses, either 914 or 915 (¥8). Take the bus to the last stop; the buses also travel via the Huaqing Hot Springs and the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang (which is included in the Terracotta Army). Go to Xi’an to learn of ancient Chinese history. Find the famed Terra cotta soldiers lined in formation. If you like historical relics you must go to see the Terra cotta army. The size and grandeur of these ancient relics is unimaginable. Anything you knew before going on this tour is small in comparison to how large this collection of clay soldier figures really is. #discoverchina While in this city you should also visit the ancient city wall. This site is more manageable for a variety of people. On clear days you can walk on top of the wall and learn about the architectural history. Others can rent a bike and cycle the wall perimeter.
