The collection mainly contains the unexpected discoveries made by the diver Koskai in the cave outside Marseille: prehistoric relics and precious murals preserved tens of thousands of years ago. It also tells the events and history from the discovery of the cave to the archaeological process. Prehistoric relics are on the verge of being submerged due to rising sea levels. In order to preserve these things, the French government built this museum to rescue cultural heritage. However, because it is relatively static, it is a bit boring if your foreign language skills are not high. Other displays, except for the cool animal models, are somewhat repetitive. The audio guide tells a story and leads you through the 30k year old human settlements in the cave as well as all of the wall drawings that the story is based upon.
