Marseille: The Capital of Provence

Marseille, the second-largest city in France, is also a significant port city. During this trip to southern France, Marseille's bouillabaisse is undoubtedly one of the most famous and anticipated highlights. As the largest commercial port in the Mediterranean region, Marseille is easily accessible. It takes about three hours to reach Marseille from Paris by high-speed train (TGV), and the city also has an international airport for convenient travel. If you have the time, Marseille is a place worth staying for a week! Not only is the city expansive, but it also boasts numerous museums and nearby small islands that can be reached by ferry. Due to its strategic port location, Marseille is rich in Mediterranean and North African cultural influences. It is also the city where I encountered the most graffiti and historical artifacts during my journey through southern France.
