Heishansi Village is located at the foot of the Yunmeng Mountain Range. It got its name because the mountain turns black on rainy days. It is close to the Yunlong Mountain Scenic Area and the Miyun Reservoir. It has the Heishansi Temple (now known as Dayunfeng Temple) and the Heishansi Railway Station. The freight railway line runs across the foot of the mountain, which is quite charming. At the same time, an independent Great Wall watchtower was built on the mountain behind Heishan Temple, echoing the independent Great Wall watchtower on the top of Baidaoyu Mountain. This is also a good place to view red leaves. Climbing up and looking east, you can see the red leaves on the Jianyan Trail and a corner of the Miyun Reservoir. There are many colorful ginkgo trees around the temple. During the flood season in summer, the small reservoir here will become a huge waterfall, which is also a good check-in spot.
