The Orphan of Zhao - Hidden Mountains

Hidden deep in Meng County is a place with a rich history⛰️ The unique scenery and 2,000-year-old story have attracted people from all generations to pay tribute to it. ———“Cangshan” is praised by people "The Orphan of Zhao" During the Spring and Autumn Period, Zhao Shuo, a doctor of the State of Jin, entrusted his posthumous orphan to Cheng Ying. Cheng Ying abandoned his own son and took Zhao Shuo's orphan Zhao Wu to hide in Mount Yu for 15 years. Later generations renamed Mount Yu as Cangshan. This is the place where three dangerous incidents occurred in one day: "hiding in the cave", "falling off the horse in panic" and "lost sword". Although things have changed with the passage of time, people still admire the hero. They have established the Zanggu Temple, Baoen Temple, Qizhong Temple, etc., and hold the "Zangshan Temple Fair" on April 15th every year. According to legend, he is the god of the land, and he blesses the local area with good weather and good harvests. 🔶Zangshan Temple The palace building was named "Wenzi Temple" after Zhao Wu's posthumous title Zhao Wenzi. There are mountain gates, archways, a stage, a second bell and drum tower, east and west stele rooms, a main hall, a sleeping palace, a dressing tower, etc. The buildings were mainly built in the Yuan Dynasty and were renovated in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The inscription on the stele records that it was rebuilt in the 12th year of the Jin Dynasty (1172). Many murals and sculptures in the main hall are preserved, making them treasures for studying the Jin and Yuan dynasties. 🔶Shenma Spring According to legend, Cheng Ying brought an orphan here. When the horse and the man were exhausted, the horse dug the ground and a spring appeared. The left spring was so deep that you couldn't see the bottom, while the right spring was gurgling and clear, which was quite strange. 🔶Brush washing pool According to legend, Zhao Wu grew up hiding in the mountains and wanted to go out for revenge, but Cheng Ying required the washing pool to turn black before he could do so. Zhao Wu finally got his revenge after being covered in ink day after day. Now the Zhao family is witnessing history in front of the poem of tracing their roots and paying homage to their ancestors 🔶Dripping Cliff There is a cave on the cliff, which is deep and unfathomable. Water accumulates in the cave to form a pool with clear blue water. It is named "Longtan" or "Black Dragon Pool". It is said to be one of the five dragons under Zhao Wu.
