Yixing｜Staying at Qiexi·Shanli by the Bamboo Sea at the Foot of Taihua Mountain

Last weekend, I returned to Yixing and chose Qiexi·Shanli, a homestay nestled by the Bamboo Sea at the foot of Taihua Mountain, as my getaway destination. Driving along the mountain road through the bamboo forest to reach the homestay, the owner and the front desk staff were already waiting for me. They warmly took my luggage, helped me check in, and gave me a tour of the entire space. The homestay isn’t large, with only nine rooms in total. Most of the space is dedicated to expanding the communal areas, enhancing the depth and richness of the vacation experience. Before entering, you pass through an ascending pathway that separates you from the hustle and bustle. As dusk fell, the tube lights along the path cast a stunning trail of circular light, creating a mesmerizing effect. The homestay’s infinity pool offers a breathtaking view of the bamboo forest, with lush greenery stretching as far as the eye can see. The hosts provide a barbecue grill by the pool, where guests can DIY American-style grilled meats. Next to the communal lawn, there are two activity spaces: "Kitchen Space" and "Tea Space," where guests can participate in handicraft activities or enjoy tea by the stove. Further inside, more private areas include an open-air soaking pool, a cozy reading nook, and an open campsite where you can set up a canopy. The guest rooms are equally refined, featuring smart home systems with adjustable lighting modes. The bathroom area is designed with a dry-wet separation layout, equipped with a smart toilet and small toiletries. The beds come with a choice of soft or firm pillows, and the projection screen is crystal clear. The rooms also include a complimentary first-round mini-bar, and all room types come with a private soaking pool and an outdoor courtyard or balcony. The next morning, after an early breakfast, it’s a great idea to stroll through the bamboo forest along the mountain path, listen to the chirping of birds and insects, and breathe in the fresh air. Alternatively, you can follow the stream to its source and unwind in nature.
