It was an important post on the Ancient Tea Horse Road, a key trade route in Southwest China linking Yunnan with Tibet and beyond. Also called Longquan Village (“Dragon Spring Village”) in some contexts. It’s part of the Lijiang Ancient City (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and retains many well‑preserved old buildings, culture, local architecture, and traditional vibes.
