Just finished an unforgettable self-driving trip—a two-day visit to Xixiawan Ancient Village in Xinyang, Xin County. Here, I found the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, experiencing true tranquility and simplicity. 🚗 We drove to Xixiawan, this ancient village of just the right size, perfectly suited for those of us wanting to briefly escape the city. The performances during the festival added a lot of lively atmosphere, but it wasn't crowded, and the tranquility here was comforting compared to those popular tourist spots. 🍽 For lunch, we tried the local farmhouse dishes, which were slightly disappointing, but the stir-fried chicken at night completely conquered my taste buds. This restaurant's stir-fried chicken is very famous in the village, with one serving being the size of a whole chicken, and the potatoes were also incredibly delicious. 🌙 After dinner, we enjoyed the quiet of the night under the wisteria trellis, listening to the sound of stir-fried chicken bubbling on the stove, chatting with villagers who came to visit, and feeling the leisure and harmony of the countryside. 🐦 The next morning, we were awakened by the chirping of birds, and the air after the rain was filled with the fresh scent of soil and grass, which was invigorating. 🏡 The accommodation was also very comfortable, with the faint scent of laundry detergent on the blankets, ensuring a good night's sleep. The environment of the small courtyard was also suitable for taking photos, and you could take beautiful pictures both during the day and at night. 📷 Choosing Xixiawan over other popular ancient villages was really the right decision. Not only is it suitable for adults to relax, but it's also great for family trips, especially with children, to let them experience a different kind of rural life.
