Xingjiao Temple, Xi'an - Wintersweet in Bloom

Xingjiao Temple in Xi'an is the ancestral temple of the Esoteric School, one of the eight schools of Buddhism. It was a royal temple during the Sui and Tang dynasties and one of the three major translation sites in Chang'an, the capital of the Tang dynasty. It is located in the east of Chang'an City, in Jingshanfang (now Xingjiao Temple West Street, Xiaozhai, Yanta District, Xi'an). It is easily accessible by public transport, with Metro Line 2 and buses 400, 14, and 34 all stopping nearby. Xingjiao Temple is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with free admission. After the twelfth lunar month, two hundred-year-old wintersweet trees in the fifth courtyard of the temple gradually bloom. The red pillars, black tiles, release pond, and white doves all provide a backdrop for the yellow wintersweet. The light is softer after 2:30 pm, making it a better time for photos. Strolling through the ancient temple, listening to the bells of the thousand-year-old temple, and smelling the fragrance of the wintersweet, you will feel a sense of peace!
