A very small castle, Uwajima Castle

Built in 1601 by Todo Takatora, a renowned castle builder, it became the residence of nine generations of the Date clan. The castle tower was rebuilt around 1666 by the second lord of the Date clan, and is now one of the 12 precious surviving castle towers, making it a symbol of Uwajima City.
