Chinggis Khaan National Museum

#falladventures #museums This very modern well curated museum is a very comprehensive collection of artifacts from every generation and branch of Chinggis Khan’s legacy. Spread over nine floors representing different themes and eras, the top floor under a large dome has a giant ger with a golden larger-than-life Chenggis Khan memorial that is treated with special reverence. Beautiful dioramas, life size recreations of royal gers, elaborate Manchu era clothing, weapons displays, extensive Khan geneology, and much more - this is a very detailed and rich history of Mongolia. There is a small snack bar but the museum almost needs a hotel as one full day is insufficient to take in all the informative displays. Any visitor to Ulaanbaator must see this museum at least once - a memorable and worthwhile experience!
