Beautiful Trieste 🇮🇹

#traveldiaries I recently visited Trieste, Italy, and it completely surprised me with its mix of cultures, history, and stunning coastal views! 🌊 Located at the very edge of Italy, right near the Slovenian border, Trieste has an Austro-Hungarian vibe, which gives it a unique charm. Piazza Unità d’Italia, the city’s main square, is breathtaking, with its grand buildings opening up to the Adriatic Sea. It’s free to wander around and take in the atmosphere, and I recommend grabbing a coffee at one of the historic cafes, like Caffè San Marco. The city’s port is also beautiful to stroll along, especially during sunset. For a bit of history, I visited the Castello di San Giusto, where the entrance fee was around €5. The views from the castle over the city and sea are worth the climb. Another highlight was the Roman Theatre, right in the middle of town. I also took a short trip to the Miramare Castle, which is just outside the city, and offers incredible views over the Adriatic.
