The buildings on Piazza Unità d'Italia emit a pearly white glow, exuding elegance and freshness amidst solemnity. Not far away is the clear blue sea of the Adriatic, making the whole city appear sunny and open. This square, covering an area of 10,000 square meters, is said to be the largest seafront square in Europe. During the Austro-Hungarian Empire, it was simply and crudely named the "Great Square," and later, as Trieste became part of Italy, it was named to celebrate the unification. In the center of Trieste, there is a wide canal, facing which is a large cathedral.
