The Submerged Buddha

🙏The Submerged Buddha, or Phra Phuttha Siri Phuwadon Mongkol Chai, is a large Buddha statue standing over 5 meters tall, located in the middle of Khao Rakam Reservoir. In the past, this area was the Khao Rakam Monastery, which was highly revered by the local villagers. They collectively built this Buddha statue. 🌊 . Later, the Royal Irrigation Department saw an increasing need for water in the area, so they expanded the water storage area. This caused the Khao Rakam Monastery area to be flooded, submerging the Phra Phuttha Siri Phuwadon Mongkol Chai statue underwater ever since. ✨ . 👉A highlight for tourists who enjoy unique, challenging, and exciting experiences is paddleboarding to see the Submerged Buddha. In some years, when the water level is low, you can walk directly to the statue.
