🖼️ [Ueno] Special Exhibition "Tsutaya Juzaburo: A Turbulent Figure in the Content Business" A large-scale exhibition that shines a spotlight on Tsutaya Juzaburo (1750–97), the "media king" who shook up the publishing world of Edo. Approximately 250 valuable publications and ukiyo-e prints will be displayed in chronological order, from the Yoshiwara period in Edo to after the move to Nihonbashi. There will also be actual nishiki-e prints and kyoka books by Utamaro, Sharaku, Hokusai, and others that he unearthed! The exhibition is divided into three chapters: 1. The Yoshiwara period → 2. The expansion to Nihonbashi and the innovation of kyoka books → 3.
