The casting was done by metalworker Ota Suruga-no-kami Fujiwara Masanori from Kanda Nabemachi. The Edo Six Jizo at Shinseiji was the fourth to be erected (third in the pilgrimage order) in Shoto 4 (1714). It is a so-called "Joroku" Buddha statue, 2.7 meters tall, which was once gilded. In Bunkyu 3 (1863), parts of the jewel and lotus petals were repaired. It was also repaired after damage from the Great Kanto Earthquake in Taisho 12 (1923), and suffered damage again during the air raid on April 13, Showa 20 (1945).
