Tokyo National Museum for half price with a student ID card!

I visited the Tokyo National Museum in the first week of March. It was a surprisingly hot day, but the visit was still really enjoyable. One practical thing to know is that they have free lockers where you can store your personal items, which is super convenient, especially if you're carrying a backpack or a suitcase like I did. The museum is actually made up of several separate buildings, and most of them are worth exploring. Each one focuses on different parts of Japan’s history and culture. The exhibits are full of artifacts, old artworks, and interesting background stories—but to be honest, I think it’s much better if you go with a guide or take a tour. Otherwise, it’s a bit hard to follow or fully understand everything just by reading the signs, especially if you’re not fluent in Japanese. One important thing to keep in mind: you’re not allowed to talk loudly or use your phone inside the buildings. It’s a quiet and respectful space, so just enjoy the exhibits calmly. If you’re a student, don’t forget to bring your student ID as you can get in for half price, which makes the visit even more worth it. I’d recommend this place for anyone interested in Japanese history or looking for a peaceful cultural stop during their Tokyo trip.
