Tonkatsu Nanaido (とんかつ七井戸) is a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand-selected tonkatsu specialty restaurant located in Jingumae, Shibuya, Tokyo. This place is especially famous for its chicken katsu made with Amagi Shamo (天城軍鶏) chicken, which features a unique combination of moist breast meat and chewy thigh meat from male chickens directly sourced from the Shuzenji Izu region. Additionally, Nanaido offers thick tonkatsu made with premium pork from various regions of Japan, such as Maimaiton from Yamagata Prefecture and Tokyo-X. These tonkatsu are fried at a low temperature using lard, achieving a perfect harmony of crispy breadcrumbs and juicy pork. The restaurant is a 5-minute walk from Gaienmae Station on the Tokyo Metro, and seating is limited to 12, often resulting in a waiting line.
