A Unique Bunker Museum in Tirana 🇦🇱

BunkArt 2, located in Tirana, Albania, is a unique museum housed in a former Communist-era nuclear bunker. Constructed between 1981-86, it was part of Enver Hoxha’s ‘bunker project’. Today, it serves as a poignant reminder of Albania’s past, recounting the stories of approximately 100,000 politically persecuted Albanians from 1945-1991. The museum’s 24 rooms provide insight into the state security apparatus during the Communist era. The damaged dome at the entrance, left intentionally, symbolizes the end of a tyrannical regime and the dawn of a new era. BunkArt 2 is open from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM from Monday to Wednesday, and until 8:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
