Ancient ruins in the jungle

#AbsolutelyFreeTrip Tikal is one of the largest ancient city ruins of the Mayan civilization. It is buried in the jungle and is still under excavation. I entered the site early in the morning to watch the dawn from the top of the temple. In the jungle before dawn, the cries of animals I'd never heard before echoed, which was quite eerie, but it was a very good experience.
