The Jacaranda Avenue outside the Physics Building at the University of Sydney still carries the familiar romantic vibe. There are two important weather-related phases for Sydney's jacarandas. Every October/early November, there is a two-week rainy season. After the rainy season, the jacaranda leaves fall, and the purple flowers begin to bloom. After a brief month of blooming, the second wave of the rainy season arrives, with a week of continuous wind and rain that blows the flowers away. As the weather clears, the flowering season ends!
