Spring at the End of October: Jacarandas Blooming at UNSW

Jacarandas are a symbol of spring in Australia. 'I love watching the jacaranda trees here. Seeing this sea of purple beauty makes me feel like, ah—spring has arrived,' says Michiko Aoyama in 'Thursday, Cocoa.' 'The window of the room faces a jacaranda, tall and robust, overly shading, usually not pleasing. But you don't know, jacarandas bloom in early summer, the whole tree turns light purple, like a lavender field rising into the sky.'
