The Dufourspitze Mountain

The Dufourspitze is the highest peak in Switzerland and the second-highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe, after Mont Blanc. 4,634 meters (15,203 feet). On the border between Switzerland and Italy, in the Pennine Alps, part of the Monte Rosa massif. Canton of Valais, Switzerland . Named after Guillaume-Henri Dufour, a Swiss engineer and topographer. First ascent was made in 1855 by a team led by Charles Hudson, including Swiss guide Matthias Zumtaugwald. The mountain is popular among experienced climbers and is considered technically challenging due to its high altitude and glacier travel.
