The gate, built during the kingdom of Wu, surrounds Suzhou’s canal and was the only entrance to the city in the ancient times. It offered protection to Suzhou and is estimated to be 2500 years old. The scenic area also consists of a beautiful garden with a lake. You can also walk on the city wall and enjoy a view of the surroundings. It was pretty calm and pleasurable.
