Whole Chicken Leg in Ramen? We Tried Kyoto Ha Chicken at Chinatown Point

Got it! Here's your blog post without any bold formatting: --- Kyoto Ha Chicken Singapore – Comfort Food with a Kyoto Twist Ramen with a whole chicken leg? Say no more. We finally got to try Kyoto Ha Chicken, the much-anticipated Singapore outpost of Kyoto’s famed Hachikian—a well-loved eatery that’s been serving up soulful chicken and duck dishes since 1970. While we missed it during our last trip to Kyoto, we were thrilled to experience a taste of it right here at Chinatown Point. And let’s just say—it did not disappoint. ### A Bowl That Warms You from the Inside Out We went straight for the Chicken Miso Ramen Special, and yes—it came with an entire chicken leg. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, soaking up the rich miso broth that was comforting, umami-packed, and perfectly balanced (not too salty!). It’s the kind of bowl you crave on a rainy day—or any day, really. What sets their ramen apart is the clean, flavourful stock made from a blend of chicken and kelp—no pork, no lard. It’s lighter than your usual tonkotsu, but still deeply satisfying. You also get to choose your chashu: chicken thigh, chicken breast, or duck breast. A thoughtful touch that caters to different preferences and diets. ### What We Tried We didn’t stop at just ramen. Here’s what we ordered: - Seasonal Special Tantan Noodles - Chicken Miso Ramen Special (with whole chicken leg) - Spicy Chicken Karaage - Egg Pudding - Berries Smoothie The Seasonal Tantan Noodles had a rich, creamy sesame base with a nice spicy kick that lingered just right. But the real star? The Spicy Chicken Karaage. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and glazed in a punchy sauce with a hint of citrus. It was so addictive, we’d come back just for that. To end the meal, we had the Egg Pudding—smooth, silky, and served with caramel and berries—and a refreshing Berries Smoothie to cool things down after all the savory richness. ### Atmosphere We also loved the space itself. It’s bright and welcoming, with vibrant red Torii gates that immediately give you that Kyoto vibe as soon as you step inside. It’s casual, calming, and perfect for a satisfying meal that doesn’t weigh you down. ### Final Thoughts If you’re in the Chinatown area and craving something hearty yet clean, Kyoto Ha Chicken is absolutely worth checking out. It’s comfort food with a Kyoto twist—and it hits all the right notes.
