Zhongshan Park - A serene spot in Nanshan District

Zhongshan Park in Shenzhen's Nanshan has a history of over ninety years. In 1925, Mr. Hu Yu, a Hong Kong gentleman who once served as the county magistrate of Bao'an, initiated the construction of the park to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat-sen. At that time, the park only covered an area of twenty acres and featured various wooden pavilions; it housed monkeys and birds, and was planted with camphor trees, autumn maples, chestnut trees, kapok, phoenix trees, and Araucaria trees for visitors to enjoy. Today, it is adjacent to the ancient city of Nantou, with a vast area and lush greenery, making it a great place to enjoy flowers in spring.
