Strolling through the East China University of Political Science and Law at night

The 900-plus-meter-long Suzhou River Huazheng section is U-shaped overall, with a pathway that includes ten distinctive scenic spots: Simeng Garden, Gezhi Building, Yizhu Courtyard, Huazheng Bridge, Taoli Garden, Dongfeng Corner, Culture Corridor, Law Theater, Ginkgo Courtyard, and Begonia Garden. One side of the pedestrian walkway is the back of the buildings of East China University of Political Science and Law, and the other side is the Suzhou River. East China University of Political Science and Law was originally St. John's College, which, as the oldest institution of higher learning in Shanghai and one of the earliest church universities in China, now allows you to appreciate the charm of century-old architectural structures without entering the campus. The combination of the riverside channel and the century-old campus offers a view with every step, full of surprises. The first surprise is the zero-distance encounter with East China University of Political Science and Law. Walking on the pathway, although only the backs of buildings can be seen, the historical traces left by each brick and tile still speak of the profound culture and heritage of the university. The second surprise is that we have gained another quiet haven away from the hustle and bustle. The well-arranged flowers and trees, the winding stone paths, and the windows made of bamboo tubes allow glimpses of students bustling to and from classrooms. At the entrance of the Huazheng Trail, there is also a café. On a lazy afternoon, brew a cup of coffee, bask in the sun, watch the people come and go, and you can read or daydream.
