Maebong Mountain Park in Sindang-dong, Jung District, Seoul

#cityplaybook Maebong Mountain Park, conveniently located in Sindang-dong, Jung District, offers a wonderful escape and a great outdoor experience. For those living nearby, especially in the Oksu Riverzen apartments, having direct access to the mountain through the Oksu Baekgye path is a major plus. As someone who loves mountains, I found this to be a "huge bonus." The park has a well-kept walking trail that, even with some continuous stairs that can be "a bit tiring," connects smoothly to different areas, making it truly "the best." Whether you visit in the morning or afternoon, the atmosphere is lovely. People say it's great for night views, but I haven't been in the evening, as I prefer to relax then. A walk to the Maebong Mountain Palgakjeong (Octagonal Pavilion) and back from a nearby home takes about 30 minutes. It's "the perfect amount of time and difficulty for a comfortable walk or workout." The park is welcoming to all kinds of visitors, with several ways to get there from places like Beotigogae, Yaksu Station, Yongsan, and Seongdong-gu. The good outdoor exercise equipment is very popular with older residents from Namsan Tower, showing how easy it is for people of all ages to use. If you go up the Oksu Baekgye, you'll find a spot where you can turn right and go up stairs towards Maebong Mountain. My usual route is to go up the stairs, then come down through the gentle Oksu Geukdong area, and finally return to my complex on the pretty Cherry Blossom Path, which takes about 40 minutes. A quicker 30-minute round trip can be done just by using the stair path. One of the best things about Maebong Mountain Park is its incredible views on a clear day. The city of Seoul has even named it an "excellent viewpoint," and it's easy to see why. From its high spots, you can clearly see famous landmarks like the Han River, Seoul Forest, Jamsil, and even the lively Gangnam area. A bit lower down, from the Han River viewpoint deck, the views are just as impressive. In short, Maebong Mountain Park is a hidden treasure that offers an easy and rewarding outdoor experience. Its well-connected paths, different routes, great facilities, and amazing wide views make it a highly recommended place for both casual walks and invigorating exercise. #relaxing #parks
