We recently visited Kapalai, Malaysia 🇲🇾 and every trip here still feels magical! Since it was my partner’s first time, I made sure we explored the most scenic spots and captured the best moments 💯 If you’re planning a visit, here’s our recommended itinerary for breathtaking pictures and the best timing for each location 🙌 We woke up early ⛅️ to catch the sunrise at Kapalai Dive Resort, and it was absolutely worth it. The overwater bungalows, surrounded by the crystal-clear turquoise sea 🌊 created the perfect backdrop for dreamy photos 📸 The soft morning light added a golden glow ✨ making this the best time for serene, reflection shots. I’d highly recommend bringing a tripod for stunning long-exposure shots over the water 🌊 📍Kapalai Dive Resort, Pulau Sipadan-Kapalai, Sabah, Malaysia We then took a short boat ride 🛥️ to the nearby Kapalai Sandbank, which only appears during low tide. This hidden gem 💎 is a must-visit for unique beach 🏝️ shots, where the white sand contrasts beautifully with the deep blue ocean 🌊 The best time for pictures here is around midday, when the sunlight makes the colors pop ☀️ We also took some incredible underwater shots while snorkeling 🤿 among the vibrant marine life. 📍Kapalai Sandbank, off the coast of Kapalai Island, Sabah, Malaysia We also explored the wooden 🪵 boardwalks of the resort, which offer endless picture-perfect angles 📸 The long stretches of walkways, with the ocean stretching endlessly on both sides, create a stunning perspective for photos 📸 We found the best lighting between 3-4 PM, when the sun wasn’t too harsh but still bright enough for crisp, clear shots 📸 📍Kapalai Dive Resort, Pulau Sipadan-Kapalai, Sabah, Malaysia We also watched the sunset 🌇 from our private balcony, and the sky transformed into shades of pink, orange, and purple.
