Gundaling Hill

Gundaling Hill stands at 1575m above sea level. The top of the hill gives you a panoramic view of Berastagi. A truly a picture-postcard to be savoured, this view. In the background, not too far away stands Mount Sinabong, which we were told erupted earlier in the morning. We could see smoke and ask spewing from the cone-shaped mountain. It was awe-inspiring! On the other side of the hill, we recognised Mount Sibayak which we had climbed just hours earlier. The garden on the hill provides a peaceful environment for family picnics or meeting of friends. We saw groups of young people posing with the mountain as backdrops. There were a couple of photographers who offered us to take our photos and print them instantly. Apart from that, we were not approached by any of the locals trying to sell their services or wares to us. As far as prop goes, there were statues of local heroes and the Mountain Princess named Beru Patimar but I couldn't get enough of the views of nature. #urbanexplorer #happylaborday #maydaytrip #givethanks
