This trip had a bit of a hiccup, something I’ve encountered for the first time in my career—the guests got their travel dates mixed up. From the initial inquiry to booking, the guests consistently mentioned April as their travel month. Two days before the agreed-upon date, our driver-guide confirmed the itinerary with the guests, and there was no indication of any issues. On the morning of the scheduled date, the driver-guide arrived punctually at the guests’ hotel, only to find that they couldn’t be reached. After waiting for an hour, the driver-guide checked with the hotel, which confirmed that no such guests were staying there. We were all quite puzzled. By the afternoon, we finally managed to contact the guests and discovered the mix-up—they had mistaken the travel date. The actual trip was scheduled for May, and at the time, the guests were still in the United States. 😂 According to the contract terms, in such situations, we are entitled to charge the full trip cost without issuing any refunds. However, we’re not unreasonable, and the guests were very apologetic, taking full responsibility for the mistake. After some discussion, we decided to only charge them for the actual expenses incurred that day, including the driver-guide’s fuel costs for traveling to and from the hotel and the non-refundable accommodation booked for that day. We absorbed the loss of the driver-guide’s schedule ourselves, and the guests gladly accepted this arrangement. 👍 A few days ago, on the correct date, our driver-guide once again went to the hotel to pick up the guests, and the trip to the Highlands began smoothly. Before departure, the guests made several suggestions for the itinerary, and we promptly adjusted the plan to include many new attractions based on their preferences. During their hiking and boat tours, the driver-guide ensured seamless coordination and also recommended many local delicacies. The guests had an excellent experience. 🌹
