When I visited Bibi-Khanym Mosque in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, I was simply overwhelmed by its grand scale and breathtaking beauty! ✨ This mosque is a very important historical site, said to have been ordered to be built in the early 15th century by Amir Timur, the founder of the Timurid Empire, to commemorate his return from an expedition to India. It is said to have been built with the aim of being the largest mosque in the world at the time, and as soon as you step inside, you feel as if you have wandered into another world.
