What a day to be in Jersey! I had the absolute privilege of standing in Liberation Square for the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, and it was nothing short of incredible. The atmosphere was electric — a sea of people waving flags, live music, cheers all around… and just as the parade reached its peak, a wave of confetti came raining down. Couldn’t stop smiling – it was like being inside a celebration itself. The sun was out, the crowd was buzzing, and the sense of pride and remembrance was so real you could feel it. A beautiful tribute to freedom and resilience, marking the day Jersey was freed from occupation in 1945. If you ever get the chance to be there for it — go.
