The staircase consists of 231 meticulously carved uneven steps in the rock, equivalent to a 20-story building. The descent is rugged, slippery, and almost pitch-black, with some areas dripping with water. Afterward, you will find yourself at the bottom of the gorge, where the well itself was the only water source for medieval Ronda.
