#September2025 The Prambanan Temple Compounds, located on the eastern outskirts of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, are one of Southeast Asia's most spectacular Hindu temple complexes. Built in the 9th century, they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally comprising approximately 240 temples, the complex now boasts three well-preserved core temples: the 47-meter-tall Shiva Temple, the Vishnu Temple, and the Brahma Temple, representing the three main Hindu deities. The temples' exteriors are intricately carved, meticulously depicting stories from the epic Ramayana, creating a magnificent and sacred scene. At dusk, the spires silhouetted against the setting sun create a stunning photo op. At night, visitors can enjoy the Ramayana dance performance adjacent to the complex, recreating ancient legends through dance and music.
