If you admire Mucha, make sure not to use the wrong character. · 🌞 On a sunny midsummer afternoon in Prague, with a saturation so high it felt like a dream, Coco, led by my old friend Lukas, the director of the Czech Tourism Board, arrived at the Mucha family's private mansion at the foot of Prague Castle and finally met the elegant and friendly Marcus. · 🏰 With Marcus's introduction, Coco got to see the living and working environment of Alphonse Maria Mucha during his lifetime, as well as some of Marcus Mucha's growth stories. · ⛪ This ancient building, which once served as a monastery residence, has a reception room on the first floor, living quarters and a studio on the second floor, and rooms for Marcus and his father on the third floor. The first and second floors preserve many of the Mucha family's collections, now used for receiving guests but not open to the public. · ⭐ Mucha fans all know that Alphonse's works are not only vast in number but also span multiple artistic fields, including oil painting, posters, advertising, jewelry design, and architectural design. Here, Coco saw Mucha's dazzling collections, including a miniature piano used by Mozart and Chinese porcelain treasures gifted by friends. · 🖼️ The paintings displayed in the mansion are mostly from Alphonse's later years, specifically the 'The Slav Epic' series. In 1910, at the age of 50, Alphonse Mucha returned to his homeland, the Czech Republic, after long stays in France and the United States. From 1911, he dedicated 18 years to completing 'The Slav Epic.' · 🧡 Thanks to Lukas, Coco had the opportunity to visit the Mucha special exhibition in 2018 in Brno, the capital of South Moravia, which included these twenty large oil paintings of 'The Slav Epic.' Compared to those flowers and beauties, they carry a more powerful soul. · 🛋️ I took a photo with Marcus in front of the red sofa bed where he slept as a child. After the photo, I asked for his IG account, and to my surprise, we had been following each other for 7 years! Initially, he liked and followed me after I visited that special exhibition in 2018. At that time, I thought he was just a Mucha fan based on his profile picture and name, but it turned out he was Mucha's great-grandson. What a wonderful coincidence! · 💐 Marcus said he and Lukas are old friends and fellow townsmen. Hearing from Lukas about my love for Mucha and even visiting Vyšehrad Cemetery to pay respects to Mucha, he was very touched, which led to this meeting.
