GROTTO: SANCTUARY IN THE HEART OF PORTLAND

#celebratewithtrip I stayed in Seattle, Washington. I heard that there is the Grotto in Portland, Oregon known for the "sanctuary of peace and prayer". It is about 3 hours drive via private car. I reached the place with a breathtaking forest that leads me to experience peace and prayerful meditation. It takes me an hour to walk on the grounds to see the Grotto Gardens where the image of La Pieta on the cave. Afterwards, I ride on the lift and prayefully walk around the upper level where the stations of the cross are spread all over the gardens, explore the labyrinth, and pray inside the chapel. It is really worth travelling like pilgrims visiting holy places like this National Sanctuary of our Sorrowful Mother.
