Lang Son, Vietnam Day Tour

At the end of 2024, we signed up for a day tour to Lang Son, Vietnam. We went to the Pingxiang Citizen Service Center in advance to apply for exit documents. The next morning, we gathered at the Friendship Pass at 9:30 am. About an hour later, we entered Vietnam and took a Vietnamese tour bus to Lang Son. After arriving in Lang Son, we first visited the Dong Dang International Railway Station. Dong Dang Station was built during the French colonial period and is located in Dong Dang Town, Lang Son Province, Vietnam. It is 19 km from Pingxiang Station in Guangxi, China, and 13 km from Lang Son Station in Vietnam. The Chinese characters "China-Europe Railway Express" on the train carriages in the station are very eye-catching. Next, we visited Dong Dang Temple. Dong Dang Temple has a history of more than 300 years. The pavilions and towers of the temple are typical traditional Chinese architecture, and many Chinese couplets can be seen. After a delicious Chinese lunch, we continued to visit Tam Thanh Cave, Lang Son Cathedral, and Flagpole Mountain in the afternoon. Tam Thanh Temple was built during the Le Dynasty (1442-1789) and was originally a Taoist place of worship. Later, the influence of Taoism on the religious life of the local people gradually weakened, and the temple became a religious site that combines elements of Buddhism and the worship of mothers. Since it is located in a cave, Tam Thanh Temple is an ancient temple without a roof. The appearance of Lang Son Cathedral is different from the impression of a typical cathedral. Lang Son Flagpole is a landmark building in Lang Son City. It is about 80 meters high and has 535 steps. From the flagpole, you can overlook the panoramic view of Lang Son City. After going to a coffee shop to drink coffee and shop, we took a car back. Crossing the border, we saw the words in front of the Friendship Pass and couldn't help but read them out loud: "I love you, China!"
