Khun Inthapramun Temple, Ang Thong

Wat Khun Inthapramun, Ang Thong Province 🙏This is an ancient temple built in the Sukhothai period. It is home to one of the largest and longest reclining Buddha statues in Thailand, called “Phra Si Mueang”, which is 50 meters long. It was originally enshrined in the chapel but was burned down, leaving only the reclining Buddha. It has a beautiful Buddha image and a smiling face, looking calm and cool. 🌿There is a shrine to the statue of Khun Inthapramun and a human skeleton that was excavated in the area of ​​the reclining Buddha chapel. It is lying face down with its hands and feet tied behind its back. It is believed to be the skeleton of Khun Inthapramun. According to history, he was a tax collector who built the reclining Buddha by embezzling government funds to build it as a religious site. When the king found out, he asked about the source of the money used in the construction. Khun Inthapramun refused to tell the truth, so he was whipped to death. This is where the name of the temple comes from. 💐An old chapel and an octagonal pagoda Located on a hill with a brick dam about 2 meters high, the art and architecture are in the Ayutthaya period. 🌷 The new Ubosot is a 2-storey Ubosot with escalators and elevators, so much so that it is called the Hi-Tech Church. On the 2nd floor, there is a large principal Buddha image, or Phra Phutthamongkhonchindaphonphith.
