French Bistro Camille in the Marais District, Paris

This was truly the best meal I've had in Paris (the kind that you miss afterwards.ᐟ‪.ᐟ) After being disappointed by restaurants recommended on social media, I was feeling disheartened. I randomly searched on Google Maps and found this restaurant near my accommodation, a place I often passed by. I decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. I arrived at the restaurant around 5:50 PM. The staff asked if I was there for drinking or dining, and I chose dining. They seemed surprised 🙀 (since French people usually dine later). After a brief discussion, they still welcomed us in. I ordered the honey-glazed duck breast with mashed potatoes and the lamb chops, opting for a pink doneness (because I had previously been served overly dry duck breast and was wary). The duck breast was perfectly tender, slightly pink but not raw. Paired with the honey-infused sauce and mashed potatoes 🥔, it was absolutely perfect—I finished every bite. The lamb chops were equally impressive, served with a tomato and bell pepper sauce. The lamb was incredibly tender with no gamey taste, and the sauce complemented it beautifully. The bread 🥖 had a crispy crust and a chewy texture—not rubbery or hard to bite through. It was perfect for soaking up the sauces from the main dishes, and I ended up eating it all without realizing. Although the meal was not cheap, it was undoubtedly the most perfect dining experience I've had in Paris.
