The Hikawa Factory in Okutama is incredibly cool!

📍 Okutama Industrial Hikawa Factory If you follow the route from Okutama Station to the factory, you'll eventually come across the trolley shown in the third photo. Since the factory suddenly appears in the middle of a forest path, it's recommended to research the route beforehand, as it can be quite difficult to find otherwise. Although there are rumors that the factory operates on weekdays, it wasn't running when I visited. The factory specializes in limestone ore processing, and the conveyor belts are still actively in use today. However, the area is quite dusty, with white powder floating around, so wearing a mask is advisable. When you think of Okutama, this factory's striking exterior often comes to mind. Be sure to check it out, but make sure not to trespass while doing so.
